Hi there, I'm one of the product manager on the Asset Manager team, thanks for watching! There's no options to self-host at this time, but you can try it out up to 10gb for free!
@final-factoryАй бұрын
@@andreanneabel9303 We absolutely _need_ a self-hosted version of this. Otherwise, it is useless. A private Cloud version is not enough. Because what does "private Cloud" version mean? Everything is currently public??? Your comment "As a side note, the team is working adding support for private cloud." makes no sense. Like Unity Accelerator, we need this asset manager backend self-hosted too. There is no way around it.

If I understand this correctly, I first have to download assets I have purchased on the asset store, then upload them to the asset manager, or is there a way to select purchased assets to be added to the cloud? Right now it seems like I first have to create a dummy project, download entire packs, upload the ones I really wanted, go back into my real project and download them again, seems like there could be a shortcut here?
@EoghanOSullivan-j3rАй бұрын
Hi @nairistarcraft - We are actually about to launch our Asset Store integration. Which means you will be able to browse your asset store assets from inside Asset Manager, then unpack them into whatever Asset Manager project you want. The feature will be out this month

Can we get same package, but for local storage, so we do not need to import whole projects and packages to get one file from it and search and manage our asset database with ease?
@andreanneabel9303Ай бұрын
Hi there, I'm one of the product manager on the Asset Manager team. I hear you about doing this locally, having said that if you wanted to give asset manager a try (you can upload up to 10gb for free), you might find it useful to use the asset manager plugin in editor to browse/search your entire asset collection without importing them. You can asset import individual asset with their dependencies.

Can it be used in a way that you gitignore folder with heavy assets but other users keep track of assets via this asset manager? I mean if I place a 3d model in the scene but the model itself wasnt commited to git Other user on his side got error in scene (missing asset) but it autoload it from AM server

@@andreanneabel9303I tested it, and it works really well. My problem is when I try to reimport or update assets in the local project. Instead of creating a subfolder with the asset's name, I would like to have an option to name the subfolder after the collection where the asset is located.

Why on earth is this cloud based?!?!?! We have a dedicated server at work for assets... there is 100% no reason for this to be stored off-site. If my internet goes down... what then? I know why this is though... Unity will use people's models to train their AI
