Great lessons in just 3 minutes; amazing. So a zinc anode does not work at all/much in fresh water? What to do if you sail in both fresh and salt water?

So zinc will totally shut off in fresh water. Aluminium will work in brackish and salt, magnesium should only be used if fresh. If you keep your vessel predominantly in fresh when unused then it may be using a hanging mag bonded in and sail with an alloy in salt and brackish. This is a quick answer!!. Companies like MGDuff do have a technical help line.

is ther some standards to the taper the props fit the shaft?

Yes there are, most are available from propeller manufacturers, just watch out for imperial and metric

@@TheMarineSurveyorNotebookBenSu i ask because i work in engineering. have worked on some damaged shafts. and want to set myself up to do more and easyer. you dont maybe have a chart or a refrance sorce?

@@manusholm3536 depending on where you are, try t norris who supply propellers and stern gear.. or other propeller manufacturers
