TRP is just one horrible pistol for the money. The trigger pull was more than 6 pounds, I had to change the sear spring to make it at least closer to 5. It recoils much heavier even compare to my 900 bucks S&W. I have changed the recoil spring with some slight improvement. The slide rattles like a cheap overseas 1911 worth $500. I own eight 1911s from Dan Wesson and three from Springfield, including Ronin, TRP and Prodigy. All three have lots of flaws and problems. No more guns from SA for me. The only issue with D&W I had was with DWX compact. The front sight is sliding to the left after about 100-150 rounds. I just have to change it. Otherwise D&W makes excellent pistols! I carry guardian or ecp, those are perfect 1911s for carry. I own the commander size Valor, and full size Specialist, the quality is very close to custom 1911s. TRP is just a joke! The very bad one.

You must be talking about the New line of TRP ? Cause I have a older model and it does have none of the problems you mentioned

@ yes it is new production. I purchased it about 8-10 months brand new, paid about $1650. The worst 1911 in my collection. I do not even count Ronin as 1911, it’s a joke! Bul Armory EDC in 45 cost me $1470 with shipping and FFL. You cannot even compare the quality and shootabilty of this two guns! Any Dan Wesson 1911 feels and shoots like custom gun compared to TRP. The problem with expensive guns is that people cannot rent and shoot them at the range, and have to rely on reviewers. Reviewers often follow the crowd and praise this junk only because it’s “legendary”. To me personally, Springfield Armory manufactures crap. All their quality guns they simply import. Valor worth its price for sure, I own the Specialist which is basically the same gun but with picatinny rail on it. I will try to do the trigger job on TRP and if that will make it better then its price tag minus $400-500 would be $1000 at least. Who knows how long it will last! It may not worth even $500…
