So true! I retired over a decade ago & promised myself I’d go a full year without volunteering or otherwise getting involved. I’d spent a 40+ year career teaching & being extremely involved in the community & on campus. I’ve kept that same promise to myself all of these years & do not regret it one bit! People may think I’m being selfish for not volunteering or joining various groups, but I treasure this “me time “ & feel I’ve more than earned it. I can be present to my family & myself! I am ENOUGH!
