Growing up in Thomson, he was my hero. I am proud to say that I punted for the same high school team. He was the best athlete at whatever he did. A legend and a great all-around guy.

RIP Ray. I'm a Hattiesburg native and we love Ray down here. He's the greatest punter of all time and it's not even remotely close.

Move back to my Northern CA hometown in 1973, and became a Raider fan….Silver & Black baby. Stabler, Madden, and Ray Guy were all in their infancy and along with several other HOF players, and many who deserve to be there, became not only contenders, but SB champions in the 1976/77 campaign. Long live the legacy of players like Ray Guy. He truly deserves his place of honor in the HOF, and as a human in the game of life.

I saw Ruy kick in New York. I’ve been a Raider fan since 73. He was by far the best punter I have ever seen. Booming kicks and pinpoint accuracy! He was a the best secret weapon any team could ask for! Truly one of a kind!

Ray Guy turned punting into a weapon. By far the best ever.

Well done Ray Guy, you were and are 1 of my all time favorites, this was good to see hope all is well with you, may true peace and comfort be with you always, take care and thanks for the memories…Once a RAIDER, Always a RAIDER…

Ray Guy should have headlined the Pro Football Hall Of Fame class of 1991, making him wait 29 years shows how much anti-Raiders bias has existed for decades! They waited until Snake Stabler was dead and they've been SCREWING OVER Cliff Branch for decades too! Chew on this nugget, Otto Graham holds the best winning percentage of any QB in pro football history, as in All-time. And which former pro QB has the 2nd highest winning percentage of All-time? The one and only, Daryle "The Mad Bomber" Lamonica! He has 2 things holding him back among the PFWAA, the first being he was a player for the Oakland Raiders and the second is that he is a former AFL superstar!

One of the only good thing about being old is I got to sit in the coliseum and watch the 1970s Raiders play. I remember watching guy pre game kicking balls into the lights

I didn't know he had Bud Holmes as his agent. Walter Payton did too. Ray Guy was the first punter I thought of as a threat because of how deep he could pin teams in their own territory. Should've been a no brainer 1st ballet HOFer. He is still BY FAR the greatest/best punter I have ever seen. R.I.P. 🙏🏿

I am a USM graduate as was my mother who went to the Hattiesburg campus the same time Ray was there. She said she used to see Ray walking everywhere he had to go. My dad at the same time was playing junior college football at perk and they used to come up and see the eagles practice from time to time and he said watching Ray guy punt a football what’s the prettiest thing and it sounded like cannon when his foot hit the ball
