I appreciate this Dan. As someone who has never been to New York City, and may never, I'm getting older. it's nice to see it like this. I always enjoy your New York "tours". I would like to see some of the "off the beaten path" ones too. Even places like Greenwich Village. thanks Dan! Todd

It amazes me to see what Time Square looks like today. When I was growing up no one went there. It was a haven for prostitutes. Grungy. Dirty. Dangerous. Watch Martin Scorsese's "Taxi Driver" (1976) and it will give you some idea. But there was a positive side. Today New Yorkers complain that it's become Disneyland, overly sanitary and overrun with tourists. It doesn't feel like NY anymore to some. Ah, the good old days!
