It was a privilege having known Drak. An astounding human who lived through extreme adversity. So honoured to have been able to call him a friend.

Thank you for sharing this story of Drak. We go through life today and it's a reality check on the horrors of war. When, will we learn.

Your right Gavin. Bob Dylan summed it up so well in the song Blowing In The Wind.

Well done Kevin you did your friend Drak a service by retelling his story and amazing life. I worked in healthcare for a period of time before moving here. I saw a lot of death and always felt privileged to be able to be there for the person and share in some beatiful moments before they took their last breath. I was told by an end of life nurse "life starts with a first breath and ends with the last the important stuff is what happens in between"..thanks for bringing Drak's in-between life to the world.

You’re such an awesome guy Kevin! You get to meet people from all walks of life & I think you ought to write a book or 2 or 3 about people you’ve met in your lifetime 😊 Thanks so much for sharing this with us & may Drak Rest in Peace 🌹🌹🌹

I'm just intrigued with hearing about other people Marietta, then you meet someone like Drak and that level of being intrigued is blown off the scale. Your dad's story, yours and then Colin's journey from the north of England to the US, which will quite possibly lead to a life here, all absolutely fascinating. Would love to cover it all one day 🙂

Interesting Drak would talk about it. My youth, the deaths, haunts me and never told any one person everything. Now Theravada finding my peace in the present and follow the way of the Dharma 🙏

I did ask Drak if he would consider talking on video but the thought always filled him with dread. He told me to do it when he was no longer around. He did however allow me to voice record our conversations, to help me remember a lot of what we spoke about. Sorry to hear that you had to experience adversity as you did, but maybe it was that which led you to discover the Theravada teachings. Do you know of a guy named, Jack Kornfield? You might like to look him up. Thank you for sharing 🙏

@@TheIsaanFarang Perhaps this helps to understand Drak bit more .... For myself if I talk about the past the horror will resurface and I will go dark, recruited at 14 and 35 yaers later made a mild mention and there was immediate interest by person you do not want coming to your door, last person I held dying the only requesr was to be remembered ... sorta aligns a bit with Drak? Thank you for making this video. In a way, it reinforces why I am happy to live in Thaialnd. Can I find a Thai partner, I do not know? Now there is no one remaining to ask any sort of forgiveness or apoligize, I will just now help and be kind to whom Buddha chooses in my path and that is my way of a peace 🙏

Hi Kevin, I am pretty sure Drak, gave you the thumbs up mate after 👍, either you seen him on the opposite side of the road, or you heard his voice silently saying YES MY FRIEND...Or indeed his favorite pen slid of the side... He sure had an interesting, and terrible time when young, and extremely lucky, but with his mindset and manifesting himself for his future, he succeeded. And lastly meeting a good man and lady.. Thank you for sharing this life story mate..

Very nice and touching remembrance of what sounds like a good man and your friend. Would love to know what happened with the experience you, Pook and his wife had but I guess that's between you and your departed mate and possibly should be left that way?

Great story. You’re very lucky to have known him and be able to tell his fascinating life. He’s lucky to have had you as a friend and able to tell his story. They always say when people die who have been close to you they stick around for 4 weeks, you’re aware they are they when strange things happen. When I’m in Udon next I’ll tell you some that happened to me.
