Boys do be careful running the steam turbines through a balancer as the balancer takes power. If balancer ever dies, then everything dies (yes of course you can rely on back up diesel gennys)

Well if the power goes out, the belts stop moving as well, which means the boiler doesnt get coal either! BAD things will happen if power fails!!

This is why I design my blueprints without the input actually attached. That way in case the shape of the land or some weird importance like here I can still use my blueprints. That being said I need to get better at upgrading blueprints. I have a bad habit of fully reshaping it instead of designing it for the top level and cutting out parts for lower tier building stages. That's what boned me in my last playthrough since I let fuel use outpace oil pumping and I had to fully reconfigure my oil cracking setup to allow light/heavy oil fuel creation. I couldn't cleanly just add it because I was an idiot and didn't put those pipes in places I can easily plug into lol

I always make sure the input attached so its easier for others to understand what goes where. For most of my blueprints i can quickly cut those off and change them up if i need to, BUT for more complex blueprints like oil its just no going to happen. Construction parts is hit and miss, as its fairly complicated with belts running back and forth at the front and some need to upgrade or be removed as your tech increases

The issue is the main shipyard is whats sticking out the most and clipping the wharf, if i build it a few tiles back it wouldnt clip the shipyard. BUT then id have to make the wharf wider to account for unloading.

@JDPlays To carry multiple liquids in one pipe, you can build the pipe out of short segments. Separate segments of the shared pipe can carry different liquids/gases.

Yes, there is also a way to make a value where 2 liquids go in, and because its a lot of short segments is can handle the mixed liquids quite well, but one will be stocked up and stored then once the tank fills it empties the tank in one flush

Regarding the connector trick you're talking about at 21:00 or so, it works fine in this case since it should be running in input-scarcity, but I've noticed some of the other places you use it seem to suggest you misunderstand how it works. When a connector is directly on a pipe input to a building, it acts like there's a zero-length pipe between the connector and the building. Importantly, this means the connector is still the one that decides which liquid goes into the building at any given moment, *not* the building itself. So if you use this trick to provide inputs for multiple recipes (like for rubber production, for example), then the prioritization in the building does nothing, as which liquid goes in is determined by the connector's attempts to pull from each pipe equally, and the building just has to deal with what comes in. So in this scenario, both recipes will run in equal ratios (in terms of the amount of the 2 liquid resources used, to be precise), so long as the supply of both liquids is sufficient.

Connectors have changed a number of times as the devs tweak things, I'm fairly sure now that they have a buffer inside them once the buffer is full then one liquid will stop flowing and the machine can then pull one liquid or the other according to the priorities set forth in the machine

@@JDPlays That's not the behavior I've observed on your oil blueprint's rubber machines. Test it and make sure. I think it used to work that way, but they changed it.

You can now use heavy oil to fuel the cargo ships as well. After some quick calculations, it looks like 1 load of crude oil is enough to produce enough heavy oil to fill the ship for a round trip.

I havn't done the maths, and i think id prefer to use it for power for right now and keep diesel as diesel

@@raptor22o90 I know more farms are going to be needed, and the answer is going to to a lot more then 1 or 2 farms so newer greener areas are going to be needed!
