Thanks for taking the time to do these real world unsponsored reviews. I was a bit annoyed with some of the “unbiased” reviewers saying this or that item “comes with” the P3 when it’s an extra. I have both and it’s about use case for me, the A4 is a tough little cam you can feel confident bolting to the front of the car in the rain while the the P3 can give you much smoother pans from a static position , motion time lapse and for me low light capabilities that the P2 lacked for inside work, museums, art galleries etc which by their nature are more dimly lit than it sometimes appears. I previously had the A1 and P2).

I have both and both are great cameras for their intended use cases. As such, they complement each other, not replace each other. These were major upgrades for me, from the Pocket 1 and the GoPro Hero 4 - what a difference! I'm really pleased with both cameras.

Great review. What almost never gets covered in reviews is testing actual use cases. Because of its tracking capabilities this could be a good vlogging camera in a kitchen or workshop, giving the vlogger room to move around. If it is just to hold in front of your face an action cam is sufficient.

Does it have a proper hdr mode? The Gopro 12 shoots multiple frames in different exposures and combine it that one does not have white blown out sky etc. It looks like the pocket 3 often has white blown out sky.

Thanks for a thoughtful review. Opinion: To me, there are outdoor cameras and cameras that work indoors. Question: Is the Pocket 3 a poor man's indoor cam? It would be great to see lowlight test just sitting around the house - walking after your dog going down the hall. Interviewing a neighbor in their workshop.

To Action 4 owners, save yourself $500 and just get a $100 action camera gimbal. Turn off electronic image stabilization (RockSteady, HorizonSteady) and low light performance will be identical to the pocket 3.

If I want to attach a camera onto my forehead to record marathon but at the begin and end of it I want to held my arm to show the Apple Watch Ultra screen to it to record the begin and end of the time, is Action 4 and GoPro able to focus on that and go back to the run, or I have to use Pocket 3, but do I able to attach the Pocket 3 at the center of my forehead and the gimbal still able to perform?

Hi, I was hoping if you can do a low light photo/still image comparison for the DJI Pocket 3 vs your smart phone vs a camera if you happen to have one? Not many people talk about the photography aspect of it and although its not the selling point of the DJI 3, Im curious to see how good its photo is, espcially in low light. I just need it to beat my Samsung S23 ultra in low light.

When you are filming yourself in daylight, the Pocket 3 footage looks very overexposed. This appears to be the same scenario on other KZbin videos I have seen. Do you agree and if so, what can be done to resolve this ?

Real life doesn’t have a shallow depth of field unless you keep your eyes perfectly still. Somehow we’ve been fooled into thinking that something that looks good for still photography like portraits should be used with video. I understand why talking heads love it but for real life videos I want to see the surroundings clearly too!

Very good review - I still love me GoPro 12 with the Max Lens 2.0 superview - I do action videos - I am not a Vlogger - would I buy the DJI cameras - NO - because editing and downloading to KZbin is a very big deal - I need everything to work 100%

Nice review. Do you know if the pocket 3 have a setting to force the focus to be fixed like the om4? During the lowlight test it was clear that the camera was having a hard time to focus and gave the image an extra blur. Thanks.

Yes it does have single set autofocus (shown during the settings walkthrough) for my test I left everything in auto

I like the Pocket 3 performance in low light conditions. Second important feature is quick rotation feature. I need to fight my mounts when I do it with Action 3 I use. However the ability to swap batteries is a definite win for me in regards of Action 3/4. If Pocket 3 had the swap-able batteries I would buy it immediately.

I shoot real estate videos and very impressed with this camera's low light capability. With the wide angle adaptor, is there bowing/warping on the ends? If there isn't I might consider shooting some of my real estate videos on days when I have multiple shoots. This will certainly enhance my work flow as compact as it is. Can this shoot vertically? I get a lot of requests for video walk throughs.

I have watched so many reviews and I don't think the stabilisation on the Osmo pocket is better than the Osmo Action. In fact the Osmo action is smoother and its also waterproofed.

The Action 4 footage is much smoother than the Pocket 3. For vlogging, the Bokeh effect is undesirable: The viewer wants to see the background as well.

Action 4 seems best. Was just going to mention the depth of field of the pocket 3 and then you talked about it lol. A shallow depth of field is good for pictures but the autofocus is too slow for videos.
