Happy belated birthday Lynn! If it is any comfort, I actually think it is much easier for me to find time to write now that I have a full-time job versus when I was a grad student. In grad school (and academia in general) the pace is pretty relentless and there's always something due so I'd always feel guilty for not constantly working on my grad school stuff, but now that I'm working full time I find my schedule is a lot more predictable (like I work my 9-5 M-F and have weekends open). So, maybe something to look forward to once you graduate? Though finding a job in the first place was its own type of hell! I appreciate your vlogs because 1. they motivate me to keep writing and 2. it's a good reminder that most authors/writers do have to work at least one other job to survive, so it doesn't make sense to compare how productive you are with authors who write full-time or those who don't need to work. So glad that you are getting more and more motivated with Project Crypts ⚰! I appreciate good and detailed worldbuilding, but I've also read books where authors have completely overdone it. I think what's most important is that it's solid enough not to distract from the characters, plot, and theme, but also not so intrusive that it takes away from the point of the story you're trying to tell. Balance is key!

I'm anticipating some more free time once I start full-time work, but unfortunately in my experience the career field I'm pursuing is usually a bit more involved than a standard 9-5. I got my Novavax COVID vaccine on October 5th, so around the same time as you! Thankfully, I only had a mild headache and sore arm. Happy belated birthday to both you and your partner! That is actually so crazy that you went apple picking as a late birthday thing, because I did the same thing last month for my birthday (also a late birthday thing.) Your milestones feel so eerily similar to mine sometimes. Haha (Perhaps a bit overdramatic to say, but it is what it is.) Speaking of...I really felt you when you were talking about committing to decompressing vs not. I have been committing to decompressing soooo much lately. I've started making a habit of setting up "non-negotiables" for after work. As in, "these are things that must be done, or I will be very disappointed in you," type things. But I'm also kind of running into an issue in which I don't have a whole lot of time after work, and then I'm unable to realistically get them done, so then I'm like..."welp, I guess I'll just decompress." Such a weird issue. Anyway (I've already said it, but I'll say it again). Happy birthday! 27 truly is a wonderful year, because I think that's when you start to come to terms with your age and mortality ⚰ and have a lot of fun.

Classic gothic? If you want to trace that voice to the very beginning, read The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole. Heads-up: it's very corny by modern standards, but the brisk pacing is such a treat. Happy belated birthday.
