After all those years when the day comes and you know that it’s possible to check out of that chapter of one’s life must be a monumental feeling. My retirement party was very simple. I was the only one reporting to the office. I bought myself a farewell pizza. 😂 The office used to have 30 employees at one time. The technology made most positions obsolete. I was a remote switch technician. The nearest fellow technician was 150 miles away.

I don't know when to pinpoint my retirement date. Is it when I sold my last business? Is it when I was ready to start or buy another business, but covid lockdowns hit? Is it when the covid smoke cleared, but I no longer had the desire to go back into business? Was it when I realized I had enough income that I didn't have to work anymore? These days I manage my investments for income, which is work, so am I really retired? This should be my biggest problem, right, lol.
