i always thought that varsity royal was from the movie and that concord purple was the PE MJ wore until this 2016 release. you're the second person ever to show that clean look on the 3rd spacing, i like that much more then the overlapping thing they used to do. i like the 2016 better then the other 2 space jam 11s. it's funny how people keep acting like the 09 pair was amazing, they forget the bumps on the midsole when they were new and everything else wrong with them. only thing i don't get is people wanted 45 for so long and when they finally got it they're complaining that they want 23, a change is nice especially since we know the shoe will retro man more times. they're always going to release 11s as long it keeps making money. i'd rather have high patent leather then the retros for the last 8 years or so with that trash cut patent leather.

From the birds-eye view it looks like the cut of the patent leather is still a bit off on the 2016's around the edge near the pinky toe. I'm still happy that they improved the height of the cut. Can't wait for my pair to arrive!

Now that we have the reservation app option, it just makes things much easier for everyone to cop a pair imo. Really helps. JB should keep the XI holiday line going but re-release the OG CWs with whatever number is on the back heel in their true OG form and make them widely available like they did here. This was a successful release for everyone that wanted a pair/s.

Knowing full well that were I live we don't get a lot of inventory. Demand is super high from the hypebeast and resellers. Did the only draw in town at finish line, rep told me they were only gonna get 50 pairs 3 of each size. Knowing full well it was BS, (they're going to backdoor). Said fuck these reserved apps, raffles , and hit the countdown clocks on the websites. Took almost 2 hours, carted, payed, received confirmation 3 hours later and that's all she wrote. Lol

Glue stains on the midsole if that’s what you’re seeing in the video for the Concords. A lot of the OGs have that present on their midsoles. Regarding the comment on the cutting die nicks: it’s not a fault or defect/imperfection if they aren’t cut off. It’s simply a matter of time and money. Factory workers have to work fast. So they skip this step. It’s normal in the industry. Normally the nick is much less visible depending on the standard of the die manufacturer and/or the factory technicians. But the nicks I see from Nike on the regular lets me guess that they are more of a help as a visible guide when working faster. Furthermore, when cutting them off, there is a much greater risk of damaging the upper. This is simply to avoid when manufacturing huge numbers like Nike.

I think a lot of it had to do with uniform rules at the time. Black and red matched better than a black and purple for MJ’s Chicago Bulls.

Back then you either had to have a primarily white based shoe or a primarily black based shoe. Since Concords were primarily white with the black, that was ok. Same with the Breds. Would’ve been nice to see space jams more and even release back in the 90s but that just didn’t happen and we received a retro version in 2000 instead.

Isn't the difference in the look/shape of the tongues have to do a lot with how tightly you laced them. Because on the OG Columbias looked to be a lot tightly tied than the other OGs you showed, they looked more symmetrical

Probably so but even over time the leather and the shape of that area in the tongue hasn't retained its shape. Even with OG 1s you'll notice "shrinkage" of the leather that needs to be reconditioned and broken in after a long period of shelf life.
