A Ride into Flying Eagle Preserve

On this adventure I take a bike ride into Flying Eagle Preserve and do some hiking as well along the way. There are many miles of multi-use trails and off the beaten path places to explore along with primitive campsites as well. It is a beautiful wilderness with an array of recreational activities to enjoy and take in the natural and old Florida. I always enjoy coming out here to roam through the woods and I wanted to share a glimpse of the area through this video. The Tsala Apopka Chain of Lakes, which surrounds most of this property, is connected to the Floridan aquifer's hydrologic system. The Withlacoochee River forms a portion of the eastern property boundary and is a vital component of regional drainage and flood conveyance. This property is a mosaic of small lakes, marshes and swamps, with numerous scattered islands of forested uplands. A broad mixture of hardwood and cypress swamps covers the floodplain of the Withlacoochee River.
