This is one of my all time favorite modern cartoons. It really showed how important friends can be during a real loss/grief/mourning periods. Not to mention to try see the best in your friends and bring it out of them when they're in tight spots.

People thought having only the red chip made him some kind of evil robot but the truth is it only removed his "No violence" program. Without Hiro's directive to destroy Callaghan, he wouldn't have gone on a rampage.

Big hero 6 was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. It showed that nothing was impossible(apart from the fact that the kid turned his friends into heroes , rebuilt a high tech pillow robot from nothing at the end) but still one of my favorites and still pretty cool. Love the vid!

Ah yes, this film holds a very special place in my heart. About two years before it was released, a cousin of mine passed away. We were very close growing up and he was basically the big brother I never had (and I’m an only child, so it really meant a lot having a brotherly bond). He taught me how to be self confident and to always believe in myself. When I got the news that he suddenly died, it seriously hit me hard. So I know exactly what Hiro was going through in this movie.

It’s a shame this didn’t get the big numbers the studio was hoping for. There are a handful of other Marvel characters and teams I feel would work so well in a Disney animated film. Loved how they adapted the comics to be something new and cool.

The biggest reason this is one of my favorite movies is how well the characters are written and performed as well as how it handles the plot twists. It really does a great job of making you root for certain individuals before unceremoniously shattering your expectations.

Just a silly little fact: in the initial chase scene with Tadashi, Hiro looks at himself in the reflection of some windows. And there’s a similar shot when Hiro is riding Baymax for the first time. It’s supposed to symbolizing that Tadashi is still with Hiro and that Hiro can do great things with Tadashi’s guidance, even without Tadashi there.

There isn't a second film, at least at this time, but there was recently a Baymax series on Disney+ and a 2D animated series a few years back, which is also available on Disney +, a fun fact, the first episode of the 2D series is an expansion of the epilogue of the film, focusing on Hiro rebuilding Baymax.

“I’m not giving up on you. You might not know it yet, but the world needs you.” The metaphor is beautiful. Tadashi is speaking right to Hiro, and that’s exactly what he did. He tried time and time again until he saw his brother utilizing his potential. “You work! I knew it!”

Hi Alyce. I suggested this one to you some time back in one of your streams, 'cause I figured this was a perfect fit for you (heck, it's a perfect fit for everyone really). Watching this reaction, I was right! Now, if you loved this, you'll love "Coco". Hopefully you haven't seen it yet. That one won the Academy award for Best Animated Film; it deserved it. You will love it to pieces by the end. Be prepared though: bring tissues. EDIT: Okay, if you've already seen that one, check out Kubo and the Two Strings. ALSO lots of awards. Also deserved.

If you are looking for good animated movies, I definitely recommend you The Prince of Egypt, by Dreamworks. It might be one of the best animated movies of all time. It has a stunning animation, amazing songs (Stephen Schwartz) and soundtrack (Hans Zimmer), humane characters (incredible cast) that are not "perfect"... You can empathize with the antagonist. This movie is overall quite bittersweet (that is why I love it in part, it isn't a "happy flower" coventional movie).

Big Hero 6 is based on Marvel Comics, and a lot of changes were made for the movie. But I think many of the changes were for the better, mainly changing some racially ambiguous and overly sexualized characterizations. Great movie. If there’s ever a live action remake, put it in the MCU. (And the inside of the portal has to be the Quantum Realm)
