Did a first time track day in August with my Elise. Weather was great, track is so enjoyable to drive. Spa is a real treat for drivers, a pitty it's 400km away from were I live.

I did Formula Ford training at the Bondurant School when the Arizona track was called Firebird, and I drove my hire car at Spa when I worked in F1, so I envy anyone who gets to drive that track at speed. I want my ashes scattered at Eau Rouge . . .

Those gear changes sound slow. Are you using the clutch to change gear? If so, you shouldn't.

I think this car has a H pattern box. Sounds straight cut, so maybe he could upshift without the clutch, but it’s not worth the extra wear at a practice/shake down session.

@@Jonathan_Doe_Its a Hewland constant mesh dog box. It is designed and recommended to be shifted without the clutch. Indeed, you will incur more wear using the clutch.
