He has all the correct credentials to be a politician in the UK. To clarify: we have just 2 parties here called Labour and Conservative; they are basically the same and take it in turns every 10 years. However most people are persuaded by the BBC not to vote which ensures that they are never challenged: this ensures that these politicians continue to allow their friends in the civil service to continue to hand out the public money to their favoured contractors. The only other prerequisite as demonstrated for the last 70 years is the ability throughout the term in office to manage decline. This is what they call democracy in Britain.
