3:20 "I don't like...SOME people is a LITTLE stupid." When you say "calling us this way" it implies you take it as if he said "everyone is stupid". He said "SOME" meanining "not us". Russian used the word "Some" meaning "only SOME of us" is a LITTLE stupid(not FULL stupid). Gotta get the details accurate especially when our kababayans have tendencies to exaggerate and overreact.😉 REAL TALK: lampas 50% pinoy ay "stupid". Reason? (it's how you differentiate the terms STUPID from IDIOT.) STUPID(tanga) means you are SMART enough to know what is right from wrong but STILL went ahead to do the wrong thing. IDIOT(bobo) = low I.Q.; can't discern what is right from wrong. DEFINITELY hindi ganyan ang Pinoy. We are HIGHLY intelligent. But we often use EMOTIONS (instead of logic) in decision making. Maybe because English is not his primary language, what he probably means is lazy, not necessarily stupid. He is just saying that since the Philippines only has one season (hot), there is no need for many of us to think far ahead in the future because everything is always grows and is available. Unlike in other countries where there is winter (very cold) like Russia, people tend to think far ahead and save for the lean months or else they will go hungry because nothing grows or is harvested during winter.

My take on when he said "stupid , it's crazy" is that for him coming from a place where harsh winters that last for months is a reality, where people need to think, work and prepare months ahead for the cold, where life is a literal battle for survival; whereas here, it is diametrically opposite to his country, we have the luxury of a more laid back, relaxed life style which is stupid (READ: unthinkable), so crazy (unbelievable) so as much so as to make it "dislike-able" (READ: uncomfortable) for someone alien to our way of life. In short, a massive culture shock for him.

There’s a saying: it takes one to cqll one. So if you call someone stupid, maybe you are too. It’s not being stupid if people are relaxed. Philippines is just so blessed with the weather and with the geography. But, right people still need to use their critical thinking. But don’t call people stupid if you’re just a guest of their homeland. It’s rude and ungrateful.
@-Ysi-26 күн бұрын
As a Filipino, yeah, some people here stupid and lazy. They don't prepare for the future, as the next day you can eat anything you want, or harvest some coconut/banana/fish while in Russia you need to plan, farm, harvest so you have to eat something in the next 6 months or else you'll die of starvation or cold weather. Samantalang dito, di ka magugutom basta masipag ka. Sa kanila, kahit masipag ka, hirap pa din ang buhay. Tapos me apat na mood pa ang weather. Halos nasa paraiso nga tayo halos, pero di un narerealize ng iba.

Obviously, he is telling the truth. In the Philippines, life is easy because we only have one season, and if you plant anything, it grows. It has been a blessing and a curse. It makes us complacent and easygoing, unlike the Westerners. This has molded us as a people. Unlike in Russia or any cold weather country, where you have to plan ahead; otherwise, it will be difficult to survive. Regarding what he said about some stupid people, they are all over the world, whether here in America, Europe, or Asia.
