The last few months have been filled with project after project, and while we've made huge progress...today's really made it feel like home! You'd think the windows or the roof would've done that but spending so many hours dreaming of how we'll spend our days in each room was a real full circle experience. Going through the electrical plan and by choosing the most efficient products we have some surplus power...you are literally going to be mind-blown with what we're doing with it. Without question, the biggest project EVER. If you're a member of the Patreon community, don't spill the beans! 😏

Hey guys Been a fan for a few months and can’t get enough. I’m a 70 year old man that has always prided myself at being handy. You two are way beyond that. So much confidence. So much enthusiasm. I know that you’re working with professional trades, but you both make sure to educate yourselves on on all aspects of the build. So to have all that is remarkable and then add the humour, laughs and antics…so much fun. If I’m being honest, I get emotional watching how much you love each other. You are both remarkable and inspiring. ❤

It’s the little things I love about your content. The evolving intro graphic, the detail about automatic lights in the closets, the peek behind the curtain of personal grooming, getting to laugh with you at the absurdity of Todd’s Mop Top Chop Shop having a higher ranking than Tyler Haircut From Hell… great weekend video! Can’t wait for next Sunday! ❤

Todd, I like your thinking and the reasons for using bx wiring. If you remember, I'm a retired firefighter and I've seen the results of poor wiring. Tyler, I've had a year of therapy for anger issues and it was the best thing I've done for myself. Way to go! Now that the studs are up, and the wiring is roughed in, your place is really starting to come together. I've gotten a sense of the way everything is laid out and I love it. With every step done from now on , you'll be able to see the end of the road you've been on with this project. It is going to be awesome. I got a huge laugh when Todd pretended that he made a horrible mistake cutting your hair.

OK, if there's a People's Emmy for vlogs, that haircut scene gets my vote. I was a hairdresser for a couple of years in the seventies. I've been cutting family hair and my own ever since. You just earned $80 in DIY labour!

Tyler remaining stationary while roughly spinning Todd’s head around was hilarious. The first time my husband and I cut each other’s hair almost the same scenario played out. He was first in the chair and I was quite gentle. When he was the barber, I asked why are you being so rough, he replied, “this is how my dad always cut mine on our dairy farm”. I waited a beat and said “those poor cows”. Fortunately, his technique has improved over the last thirty seven years. 😅😂 We absolutely love your content❣️

Hey, guys, where's today's video? Is everything okay? I look forward to every Sunday watching your newest video. Love the progress of the container home, it looks amazing. You'll have taught me so much about building a home. I have always renovated homes. I've never built one, but to see this one. Being built with such tremendous care being taken towards the environment is amazing to see and very educational. Thanks, guys, for doing this entire video series on building your home. And the dome and everything else that you'll have created. Here's a shout-out from South Louisiana to you both as a congratulations on everything accomplished.

Gentlemen, YOUR container home is THE ABSOLUTE BEST design I have EVER SEEN ! ! ! So wide open and I think the "forced" addition of the stairwell enclosure has really made it even better ! I can't wait till everything is enclosed in drywall and moldings and floor coverings ! U2 really have some FABULOUS design ideas ! AND......after the house is done i think ya oughta build a two car shop/garage/BIG project building area, with skylights in the roof or a all glass green house on the south side so that you can start your plants there in the early spring months.... But you probably already do that in the dome, right? Anyways.... It's looking better every single time you give us another look and it's something you can REALLY be proud of !‼️! ‼️!‼️ !‼️

Apart from the pleasure of seeing you beautiful young men and those gorgeous fur babies each week (and empathising with your challenges and revelling in your joys), it is so fascinating to see you engaging with problems that I can’t imagine ever encountering but can play in my mind with what ifs…? As a 67 year old, retired former teacher, there’s no way I could do it, much as I’d like the idea. So thank you, a thousand times, for enabling me to do so vicariously each week. First time here. Following you since recently. Really like your dogs and the way you two take care of them. With my partner, we rescue old Golden Retrievers - 10 year-old and up - from shelters in Quebec where they wait to be adopted. Sadly, they stay there too long and because of their age, they are not the first choice for new dogs owners. They are anxious and stressed out when we get them home. We give them a quiet and peaceful life in the country and the best time of their life!

Love You Guys! ❤ Question: Didn’t hear anyone mention a ceiling fan in the stair tower, in the winter all your heat will be at the ceiling of the tower and you’ll need to recirculate the air back to the floor. I had something similarly in a house I rented and a reversible ceiling fan made all the difference, the lowest level always seemed cooler until the fan was installed. 14:06

Absolutely!! We want to try and put a vent in the ceiling that can suck the hot air and put it in different areas of the home (hoping the HRV can do this) but we'll see!

I agree with Lynn I was worried when I heard you were spray foaming ontop of the wires as well... please please document with photos diagrams and labels before you spray foam. I made this mistake on my tiny house. Consider panelling on walls with the main electrical wires so you don't have to bash in the dry wall if there's an electical issue

I was suggested to watch you by KZbin because I was watching all these tiny living videos before Covid and you were living full time in an rv and then went to the dome. Then I kept watching as you have been building your container home, but honestly, the thing that keeps me coming back is when you have these “hair cut moments.” Moments where you have been funny, or sweet, or silly, or frustrated, or loving, honest, or just real. Just moments like that. I just have grown to love you guys and really appreciate that you show the world that you are just real. 💕

The last time I was in London was in 1965. Skyscrapers were being built all over. It was a 10 week vacation with my Mum and my sister(3), and I was 11. Our home base was in Crewe at my great-cousin's home. I love your travel videos, which bring back memories. ❤❤

Just LOVE your certainty that you have the electrics absolutely perfect! I can almost guarantee twelve months after completion you'll be making changes. It's not a sign of failure, it's just human nature and that none of us have a working crystal ball!

It is so interesting and fun going on this house and property build with you. To have watched from when you first drove on to the property at the pandemic to now has been quite a journey. Can’t wait to see the final out come.

We're very lucky! Some days we wish we weren't a 3 min walk from the river and it was right on our door step but times like this we're so happy we are where we are!

Hello dear ones! The house is starting to take shape more and more, and finding a way to make it self-sufficient in an off-grid environment is a very important thing. I can really imagine that walking inside its very large rooms and observing it in every detail is a unique and very exciting experience for you. I have seen Tyler so happy and pleased with the results achieved and it was great to sense all your enthusiasm. You are two such handsome, able boys, together manage to be so carefree, you can really do great things! Congratulations on the new hairstyles as well! 🙂 If you need rest and relaxation, I would gladly give you a foot massage to take care of you just like in a spa 💗 Sending lots of kisses and see you Sunday treasures ❤😘

You guys are simultaneously engineers, artists, and comedians. You're understandably excited to bring this huge project to completion and bask in the glory of the final result. But you know what? Don't be too anxious and rushed about it, because in the future after it's done, you're gonna feel an absence from the journey being over. So live in the moment and stay present throughout the journey, because eventually looking backwards, you're going to want to also bask in the nostalgia of it, with a richly absorbed memory of every detail and every emotion that you experienced together, from one milestone to the next. The thrill of taking on projects is not just from the completion of them, it's the challenges and joys of accomplishment in the process of doing them, discovering, learning, and sharing. It's the human connection that grows deeper during the collaborative creative process. It's the thrill of feeling fully alive because you found a meaningful purpose, to envision and create your own utopian oasis with appreciation for the beauty of the land and respect for the planet, and being able to share all of that with the person you love so dearly, with pride to also show and teach the world a better way of living. Savor every day. In your own unique way, by thinking outside of the box, you both make the world a more beautiful place, and you do it on your own terms with grace, dignity, and style. ❤

Put sockets at hip height and double the amount you have. My sister is an interior designer and placing sockets was the job that cost her most headaches.
