Sorry to hear about Fluffy but at least you had him for 15 years. That in itself is a blessing ❤. The laptop was replaced and the data was saved so it's great that you both didn't hold negative feelings about the accident. You are a great couple and compliment each other. FIRE allows us to get more control of our lives, so with regard to the laptop breaking (“spilled milk tea”), we aren’t as bound to money if we budget right. That being said, I love the way you said as couples we don’t have to fret over every single thing. I think our Malaysia and likely the broader Asian culture ingrained in us the idea that people need to be punished to learn. But spilling tea is such an easy thing to do no point in berating our loved ones over that. I liked this car conversation style. Makes it more relatable for us folk who haven’t FIREd yet!

Fran & John, I just love the two of you! Due to the nature of your work and always in close proximity with each other, it's like two stones rubbing against each other, smoothening out the rough edges :) Yet you both shine through as possessing great forbearance, fortitude, perseverance, endurance, humility etc.! So sorry for losing Snuffy ... but free from pain, now he must be in a special place in doggy paradise :) Sorry about your laptop too but as you say, something good always come out of a bad situation ...
