Wow man I didn't even know that these many things are going to be constructed amphitheatre, parkway, underwater fish aquarium and lots more. I am very happy with this project. And I am very much sure that the cost of the project would be recovered in a couple of years from the tourism. This project would be completed in 4 years with the cost of 2500 Crore rupees. Since this would be a biggest tourist attraction having so many facilities like underwater aquarium, this tallest statue along with other things, If only 20 crore people out of total roughly 1.4 billion people (in 2018) visits and spends 125 rupees the cost would be recovered.

@RAZA....there're differences. Firstly, It's not Modi's own statue. Secondly, It will the world's tallest statue. Thirdly, It is a Public Private project. Means, public of this country also contributing for this project. Fourth, It will attract many visitors. So it's a source of income too. And Most importantly, it's Sardar Patel's Statue, who is the real hero of United India.

All those questioning the need of it are just half knowledge guys who keep on crying when things dont happen and when things happen too.. this will create many jobs, tourism and thus Income. for the hundreds of years to come. !! The idea is just to unite people as a single nation. Modiji is awesome. Because if development happens all over india people would start creating their own different nations,people are only sticking together because of problems,once prosperity comes they (people who fight on caste,relligion difference)will easily make 50 nations out of india. Let us get real here. the annual profit by the statue of liberty and monuments around it is just Rs. 80 lacs (not dollars, rupees!) per annum (last 3 year average). Secondly, statue of liberty is just one of the tourist attraction in New York. People go there to see the city of New York itself. Same could be said about Paris- it is the city that people are interested in. I dont think the location for this statue will provide anything vibrant in that sense. So if any tourism that would happen there would be very limited in terms of generating revenue. So at this rate, it will take a hundreds of years to cover the expenses even if we count the taxes generated from the businesses that would supposedly grow around the statue tourism. So the revenue generation through tourism argument is concerned, the simple answer is- IT JUST DOES NOT WORK!.

This money could have been invested in establishing a world class university which could be dedicated to revisit all that Indian history which we could not read in our history text books. It could have promoted researches that would have erased all that history that Western colonial rule has written to serve its own interests. Wouldn't Patelji be happy in such an activity ?

This is an incredibly naive comment. Do you not know what the largest industry in the world is? For every single country, excluding North Korea, and other conflict-inflicted territories. This will gain heaps of revenue for India through international tourism, as well as plenty of pride for the citizens of India, along with plenty of inspiration for everyone in the world, not exclusive to just India's citizens. That revenue gained from this statue, can be used to fund new universities and so forth. And this is why you're not a politician, you don't think in the long-term do you?
