There's definitely more going on on-screen than what the DS could handle. It's an idealized version of the DS, the way those of us who grew up in the 2000s remember it through the lens of nostalgia. It's kind of like how Shovel Knight was an idealized version of NES graphics

I have almost 8 hours in it. The game can be 1 hour if you want it to be, but it can be even 10. It depends on the player. The exploration and flying is so joyfull in this game. I was playing it on PC during quarantine and it felt like going outside. 100% worth it!

This delightful game can be "finished" in like 30 minutes, or you can explore hours at your own pace. Every time I play, I find something new, and I've beat it like 4 times now. It's a little masterpiece and I wish there were more games like it. :)

Instantly bought this. As others have said, it immediately reminded me of old school 3D DS graphics, so this is super cool to me as someone who grew up playing a DS. Also love the color palette and premise. Edit: Been playing it for awhile now and, gotta say, it's been an absolute joy. There's surprisingly a lot to explore in this game, and it's so much fun to do. Would highly recommend it :) Edit 2: Just finished 100%'ing it. What a great game, man. Again, highly recommend it. Would love to see more of this in some form, too.

Misty 31 :D I’d say I got around 6ish hours out of it? The switch won’t tell me yet lol. But I think most people would get somewhere around 4 hours out of it, maybe even less depending on whether you’re really bent on exploring. There’s a lot to explore and find, though. And either way I’d say it’s worth the price for the experience itself.

To anyone wondering if they should get this, I just wanna say that this game was an absolute joy to play. The low resolution is an optional setting that can be adjusted as you see fit, the story is charming and sentimental towards the end of the game, every character feels unique and full of personality, and overall, the exploration is really engaging and rewarding.

Honestly I played it for like 5 minutes and thought "Kinda boring. Probably gonna just play something else" but then I started doing these little quests the characters give you and just chilling with the peaceful music and I thought it was kind of therapeutic almost. Like I was too busy trying to run around and see what there is to find to think about anything else. There's no map so you just kind of run around and you could miss a ton of things if you just try to go on the actual trail you need to follow.

So this game is really easy and rather short, but I felt a kind of joy that I hadn't for a long time and almost cried at the end. There's definitely more stuff to do besides the story tho, like fishing, several riddle treasure maps, exploring the whole island by flight or motorboat, finding lost items for other hikers... It's sort of like budget Animal Crossing I guess? And the characters have such great personalities! ...except Gary the scalping college student!!!!!! That miserable pile of feathers said "smell ya later" to me!!! OOOORRRGHHHH

Anybody considering this game I truly do recommend it. The story is rather short but there is so much exploring to do anything from hidden treasures (behind the house, mountains etc), mini quests by gathering stuff, playing a mini game, flying/gliding is so much fun and most of all do talk to everyone, the game is really wholesome and totally worth those 6-7 dollars especially because this game runs SILKY SMOOTH which improves the experience so freaking much. I wish many devs would prioritise optimization like these did, it truly is a HUGE plus to experience itself. :)
