A Sick Kid Is The Worst

Right in time for our weekend getaway both of the girls are sick. We are hoping for a little rest but it's not looking like it's going to happen. Now we wait and see.

Way too much sugar, sick or not. Our kids are prone to autoimmune disorders, so you might want to have some genetic testing on juvenile diabetes. My son has the gene, but have been fortunate so far. He gets no candy, cookies or cake or ice cream. Just some muffins that are, admittedly, full of carbs. This is not a criticism, just a note. Abbie is not as hyper as my son was at that age. Plus, he has severe food allergies that cause massive diarrhea.

I’m mildly autistic myself. I almost threw up tonight. Last week I was vomiting, had pain in my throat, clogged nose, migraine, faint feeling, major dehydration, breathing trouble and I was frightened. However with tons of thanks I got better. My cvd test said negative but sometimes I still sit and wonder. Some are like “cmon man it’s a 24 hour thing!” Well easy to say tougher to experience.

I have anxiety and migraines. My cats know when I don’t feel well and they come and comfort me. I’ve actually registered them as ESAs. Animals are very intuitive.

Cats definitely know when you're unwell. Mine are oddly attuned to what my issue is too. If I have a migraine he wraps himself around my head.

Oh my goodness! Mine does too! I have two cats and when I get the migraine, one is wrapped around my head or close to my head and the other one is on my feet because for some weird reason my feet get super cold when I get a migraine. They totally know when we are sick!

Cats can also change their purr for pain relief. ..i have lupus and my cat does this for me she will lay on the areas that hurt and purr different than her normal purr

Cats are awesome too. In my experience, they're just as attentive as the dog I know really well. I have two cats and if I'm not well, they're both very insistent that they'll stay with me and only leave occasionally when they need to. I love them so much.

Cures for stomach ails, flu, etc. Coke in a 6 1/2 oz glass bottle. Here's a thought about the food sticking to the roof of the mouth; medications can be drying. I suggest you give dry mouth toothpaste a trial, and in the same area of the store, you'll find dry mouth gel for in-between and before food. Also dry mouth gum and candies (but she might have a problem with those, I don't know). I can't promise this will solve the problem, only that it's worth a try.

Erica Snyder yea... she already didn’t look like she felt well. &then they let her have chocolate donuts and cupcakes and went on a golf cart joy ride. I sometimes dislike how much food they give her... you wouldn’t let any other 14 year old get out of school and immediately eat an entire packet of chocolate donuts AND cupcakes... using it as bribes isn’t great& is going to facilitate a bad relationship to food (I personally don’t think necessities like food, clothing and housing should be used as behavioral tools)... But she’s not my daughter and I don’t have to deal with her and her problems, so if she was my child, I may feel different on it... but I honestly think they should count her calories and not let her eat much above her daily calorie count because she’s constantly filling up on sweets& is going to wind up with diabetes and other health issues.

I’ve heard that with sticky food like bread and donuts, sometimes its a sensory thing and might get stuck not realizing or feeling that its stuck either on the roof of the mouth or in the back of the mouth pouched between the gums and lips. Love you guys!
