@@raymondsanger5196 or us slightly nutty bois operate on a different level. I rely on my bike to keep me safe and bring me back so I take care of it by keeping it in a moisture-less and heated room. I live near the sea, within 80 meters from it so keeping it indoors just makes more sense for me as I don't want all that saltwater condensation and mist-over messing with my bike corroding stuff. Plus, I like looking at my bike, touching it as I walk by, slapping the tank in approval. That’s the way to do it. I have just fitted a new front tyre on my 450 EXC using this technique and for the first time I actually enjoyed doing the job :-) I can recommend placing the wheel on a car tyre when performing the operation. Last time I tried before watching this 2 hours later and loosing half the skin on my hands I threw the tools and cut the old tyre off and got the shop to fit the new one. Never again thanks again

Fitted my first set of Motorbike tyres last week, using the LP method of course and opted for Michelin Anakee Wilds too. 1st go at the rear seemed to have gone well, but somehow I introduced a pinch flat on the last step 😟. Positive point, I got to practice repairing a puncture too😁. Clearly I'd missed something, so moved into the kitchen for the second go and that sorted it. Front went well, though I got kicked out of the kitchen 👍👍. Now fitted and scrubbed in with a 💯 country road miles, loving the tyres. Cheers Lyndon, inspiring even in lockdown 🤙

Solid work. I use your videos to teach my sons; from your mouth its golden, from mine, its just dad's shite, ha. When you get done riding hard; try your hand at coaching or teaching. Your'e a natural; clear expectations, stay on point, and deal well with all the "what ifs". As a young teen, I apprenticed in a local machine shop. "Moony", shop foreman, would teach me the hard way. Like mechanics always push the wrench away with an open palm to save his knuckles when the wrench slips. Full of myself in my early days; good advice usually went in one ear and out the other. So as I'm trying to break a 3/4 " bolt free with a closed fist wrapped right around the wrench; Moony reaches over with a fair sized wrench and wacks me a sharp one across me knuckles. As I screech in pain; Moony calmly points out that if you hold a wrench the wrong way, you'll hurt your knuckles. You're an effective teacher and motivator; what you so freely share in your videos is what boys need to really listen to to become "men". May you and yours be safe.

If you leave the nut just barely on the valve, the tire bead will seat easier and more evenly plus you'll be less likely to pinch the tube. Just like you did on the rim lock. Excellent idea to use the "trough"/drop center opposite from where you are trying to get the bead over the rim.

Hey Lindon. I learned a lot when I saw you mounting and dismounting the tire. My advice when using a patch is to leave it on for a minute then fold the tube it with the plastic film with the patch on the outside of the bend. Almost all modern patches have a breaking line(yours also, because I saw it ripped when you were pulling it off). If you pull the film from the inside instead of the edge you wil almost never pull your patch edges of.

I can change tires on the floor in a matter of minutes and you still got me to watch half this 🤣 It’s the video I’ve always wanted to make. Great video. Thank you and your filmer helper! Million times easier making videos like this with a helper! Recently I’ve been spooning both sides to take them off and dropping the whole wheel into the tire on the re-install. Common method for Tubliss installs. Works really well. I also finish near the rimlock for the very reason that the tire falls in to the drop center easier on the opposite side that doesn’t have the rimlock, because the rimlock itself is an obstruction.

there is a little cut in the plastice cover on the patche, so you can pull it of from the middle to the edge, so you won't have trouble with pulling of the patch edge. I only have done this on a bicycle, i would have to try it on my moter bike once, but since using it manly for work commuting and a bit of offroad in the weekend, i let the bike shop boys handel my flats :p maybe with this tips i will have the nerve to start doing it myself.

Very useful tips thanks!! Im also a fan of ultra heavy duty tubes, not only because they are good insurance against flats but when mounting/dismounting they work in your favour holding their form really well with just a little air so that it’s very difficult to accidentally pinch them. I also don’t use a valve nut once the tyre is on, as the rim lock will keep the tube in place, and I find it good insurance to have that little play to avoid shearing. Just my experience .!
