It wouldn't be right if I didn't invite yall up north for sauger fishing. On the upper Mississippi you can ice fish in the morning. And take your boat out in the afternoon. Good fishing in that part of the country

I would love to fish for sauger one day, and I’d really love to get some in a frying pan. I live in Northeast Ohio, and here we have saugeye. Saugeyes are hybrids that come from crossing a female walleye with a male sauger. Walleye have no distinct spots on their spiny dorsal fins while saugers do, and saugeye have both bars and spots in the webbing of their spiny dorsal fin. The saugeye is excellent table fair and is my 2nd favorite fish to eat only behind freshwater perch. This is making me hangry Richard! Lol😂 God bless you and momma sue, and give the pups big kisses and hugs from all your Ohio fans!!

That is the way when you are sauger fishing. Below damns are community fishing spots. Many have an etiquette where you pull rigs up stream and drift down. If you want to be alone. Go down river and find your own fish

Find a bait shop in Sauk, Wisconsin and check to find out when the walleye and sauger bite starts. The same way you are catching them on the Tennessee River will get you bit on the Wisconsin River below the dam at Sauk. State record came out of this location and weighed 6.56 lbs. , seems like it was 26.5” long Might make a good video and give you a new pb sauger.❤

Have you ever thought about installing some foam pool noodles on the edge of your boat? Just get the size you want and cut them long ways, and you can glue them on, or just slip them on when you're bumping up against the wall, might help protect your boat.

Hay Richard, I was just wondering if you have done any videos on small crappie hard baits like small crank baits , traps, etc. I have caught some on them myself. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on their use. You are a pro on finding and catching crappie. Always enjoy your attitude and comic videos, and absolutely a grand personality . Thanks, one of your grateful followers, Don B.

I wish you made a fishing kit or a video with $100-$200 tackle box setup that you would start with today if you didn’t have anything. You have shown so many bait combos that I’m very confused on what to buy other than buying one of everything. Even the amount of different bobbers you use. I’d like to start over with one good kit with the best stuff.
@robertdudley-rx8qo10 ай бұрын
that jig you decided on i believe is called a firetiger color pattern. i discovered a rapala lipped crankbait in that pattern b4 that works great for crappie in the right conditions. tight lines....and God bless

Richard I don’t know if you’ll see this comment or not but check this out. I was fishing with some friends and a few other people around the boat Harbor below Wilson dam for Croppie. Looks like the weather is supposed to be much better this week, mid 60's, I guess I need to get the boat out of the Garage and head to the Dam. I fish that exact spot pretty often, have taken a couple of HUGE crappie there, and several small Sauger.

Richard, please do me a favor and have some blood work done.I have noticed some swelling in your left hand when your right looked fine. We do not want fluid buildup causing any issues. A visit to the cardiologist for a checkup would not hurt . I love watching you fish and want to for many more years.

@glennjohnston711510 ай бұрын
Amen!! I hate the scopes. They are hurting others ability to catch fish. I don’t use one
@joegrande484810 ай бұрын
I never use live scope either. I cover lots of water and use simplicity and catch a ton of fish. I use a 6 or 12 inch leader with either 1/10 oz egg weight or split shot. I'll tie leader with size 1, 2 or 4 baitholder sometimes a 16 baitholder if I'm going for bait fish. Of course if there's corrent I'll use a split shot or egg weight. If there's minimal or no corrent I'll fish it weightless. Then I'll use 6 or 12 inch leader I'll put a slip bobber on then tie leader to main line. Most times I use 12 inch leader. Then I'll tie a dropshot. Next I use 1/8 1/16 or 1/32 crappie jigs with a white grub. I put procure trophy bass on the few lures or soft plastics I use. Then I'll use a ewg super line offset hook with 1/32 1/16 or 3/8oz bullet weight. Soft plastics I use 3 inch hellgramites, zero z too smoky blue fluke 5 inch finesse worms or white grub 2". Lures I use a jerkbait a kvd splash a Berkeley choppo or a wake bait either a rat or fish. This is all I use and catch tons of fish. On a slow day at least 6 to 8 fish 😊😊❤ oh a new lure I'll try I saw Richard use a 1/16 bitsy jig 😊
