Austin Baker Actually it was kind of mutual. Someone had sent her the review of Thomas the Tank Engine and all the stuff he said about her. She had a bad week apparently and let out a tirade against the critic..not realizing he was only a character. They wound up both contacting each other to explain and Doug asked if she would like to cameo. This led to her doing a couple of things wit Nostalgia Chick to since they apparently are far from each other in NYC.

I would imagine writing is the dream role for most actors once they make it big and have enough money to retire and live happy. Let's them take a step back, and if anyone else fucks up and the movie flops it's the actor/director/other writers/etc.'s faults, not to mention most people are just flat out sympathetic to the "translating one medium to the other always fails" thing.
@filmfanaticx42123 жыл бұрын
@@mutt9779 That's what Gene Hackman did for a couple years after he retired. He did two solo-effort novels (he already co-wrote 3 with Daniel Lenihan in 1999, 2004, and 2008). A western called Payback at Morning Peak (which I own) in 2011 and a cop thriller called Pursuit in 2013. Hope he decides to do another book. He's a good writer...

19:53- Wow, she's almost unrecognizable now. Surprising cameo though, and she still somehow has that certain charm that I found likable in her childhood roles. Mrs. Doubtfire is probably my favorite of her works. That scene with her doing jungle cat faces with Robin Williams gets me every time, plus the part where his makeup comes off after saving Pierce Brosnan and she goes "Daddy". The 1994 Miracle on 34th Street is a close second, as I also enjoyed her banter with Richard Attenborough (God rest him). Overall, Mara Wilson had more talent in my opinion than several child actors today, and she showed it mostly just by being herself :)

Mara Wilson was the cherry on top of this review. Even though I love this movie and I actually enjoyed the review, having her come on and do a review of her own was a wonderful touch. She still has the ability to act as she displayed here which is why I am sure that she should get a dark role in something.

Mara Wilson turned out so well tbh! I wish more child actors grew up to be like her.

When it comes to kids' movies and child actors I believe that constructive criticism should apply to every actor at some level as long as it's kept friendly and respectful. Child actors shouldn't be mocked and ridiculed. There is a difference between criticism and cruelty.

NC refers to Martin Short's character as a middle class white American male, but Martin Short is Canadian.

Am I the only one who thinks young doug looks like a young Dwight schrute? I feel like the part at 21:13 really shows that.

This looks $20 more expensive than Thomas and the magic railroad.
