The Donovan scene is hilarious. I got sold aspirin in high school under "false pretenses", stepped to the guy later for my money back and got my ass handed to me. It's hard to put up a good fight when you're embarrassed.

Funny as it is and we've all sold oregano, it's now a prosecutable offence to sell anything that the buyer thinks is drugs. Can be crushed paracetemol, oregano or squares of a comic; you're still getting done for supply

@@davidz3879 That's the one I find unrelatable: They never have each other's backs, and also never fight with each other. In a real friend group for that age (at least in my generation, some years before them), Simon would be constantly throwing hands at Jay, Neil would be throwing back to defend Jay, and Will would at least be getting smacked over the head. But all would jump in if any of them were attacked by someone else.

And in real life Simon and Tara are an item: Tointon moved in with The Inbetweeners co-star Joe Thomas in 2012, after they met working on the show. The couple became engaged in 2017 and are currently living in London. In October 2022 they announced the birth of their first child.

Many years ago when we were 14 or 15 sat in a park late at night drinking a few litres of White Lightning cider, we had one friend who was a bit of a "Jay" claiming he'd done everything under the Sun. We gave him a rolled-up cigarette (just normal tobacco) but told him it was weed, he then proceeded to act like he was high for the next few hours. Even after we told him later on that it was just a standard cigarette he claimed that it wasn't just tobacco.

Tara was always my favourite of the Inbetweeners birds. Carli should be a distant memory now he's met a girl who likes him and isn't just stringing him along. You guys should watch the crappy American remake when you're done with the good one. Just to compare the quality. It's enjoyable in it's own way because of how unfunny the jokes are and how unlikeable the characters are. Would be cool to see your disgusted reactions... They copy classic Inbetweeners jokes and completely butcher them. None of it translates to an American audience, partially because censorship restrictions mean they tone down the language so it's not relatable like the UK version. Teenagers don't talk like that.
