Baths are more numerous in the UK than showers. But most have both, a stand in shower bath

Neither of the houses I grew up in in the UK (in the 1980s and 1990s) had a shower, so it was all baths! The first house I lived in with a shower was when I was 18! Although that’s probably not very common nowadays, baths are still a thing for most people.

Examinations are a big thing in UK, most qualifications are 100% based on exams, can be just one exam at the end of the year. For my as levels, I had 2 weeks of exams and had 10 exams, that's for 4 subjects. One subject had one piece of coursework, the rest were all exams. It is so stressful. This the constant from aged 13 all the way up through till end of university. People break in exam season, I used to get nose bleeds every year

In Britain most of us 'Bathe', it's nice and relaxing. Personally I bathe at least once a week, with some Radox in the water, while listening to music, I also take a military shower straight after though, just to wash away any residual shit I was laying in for the previous hour 😁 it's a quintessential British thing I guess these days, we call it "Having a soak"

Yeah bath culture is clearly different here in UK/Ireland. Maybe due to the climate, it's pretty common at any age really. Also teenagers being petulant to their mums and shouting at them to leave the room is basicaly the norm here - kind of surprised that it's no there :p (The characeter "Kevin the teenager" is a famous parody of this, from Harry Enfield)

Houses in the UK have big, deep baths as well as showers, we usually shower in the morning and have a hot bath at night (especially in the colder weather) I'm British Gen X er and I'd have ended up in hospital if I spoke to my mum like Simon does, my sons who are millenials and now in their 20's, would never have been allowed to behave that way either, but I think the Gen Z kids get away with it more, so I think it's more of a generational thing that a cultural one.

I remember when I sat my exams back in 2010. I never done any revision and spent the time I should have been messing around with mates and had all my family moaning at me for not revising. I had never smoked weed and was given a toke one day just before my computing exam and thought I had messed it all up but in the end it turned out that I passed all exams with the lowest grade being a C. The best part was my computing teacher hated me and I passed with an A as well as got the highest passing % of the class😂. You werent wrong about people just being lucky in tests!

I don’t think American kids are ignorant or arrogant. I think some kids are just like that wherever they’re from. I think the problem in America is the education system, it’s solely focused on the USA. In geography; you learn about the different states & capitol cities. Maybe a little about Canada & Mexico but that’s only because of their proximity to the USA. In history; you learn about the civil war, Declaration of Independence, Vietnam, Korea, pearl Harbour & WW2. But it’s always centred around the USA. Same with sports, NFL, NBA, NHL….. the key letter being the “N”….. it’s always national and always about the USA. All of this is fine, when you don’t ever leave the country; which famously, a lot of Americans don’t. Because then you don’t realise how bottlenecked your education has been. I know this better than anyone because my dad is from Singapore & my mum is English. So I grew up being internationally schooled in Zurich, Switzerland. My girlfriend was also internationally schooled; born in Wisconsin, schooled in both the U.K. & Macau; similar situation with her parents, American father & English mother. Whenever we go back to the Green Bay Area for the holidays to see her family; it’s painfully obvious that they’ve grown up almost with blinkers on, they know absolutely nothing about the wider world. When I say i was schooled in Zurich and I’m half Singaporean, they just look at me as and carry on talking like I didn’t say anything. Same when Jess says she lived in Macau….. just total silence lol.

I was all four of them rolled into one. I was naive not good around girls I was the ugly duckling a complete dork. I only got invited to one party in four years of high-school. The girls your own age also want older boys. I hated school full stop. My time came when I joined the army at 18. I wasn't a virgin before I joined, I did manage to lose it to a girl a couple of years older than me and I already had a daughter as well to a woman twice my age. I was just so desperate for affection and love that I screwed it all up. Women dont like cling ons. So when I joined the army, it gave me a confidence I had never had and women notice confident men. Even if they are not that good looking confidence helps a lot. At the end of season 1 they win at the end of season 2 they lose
