Grx 810. 38 front (Wolftooth) 11-42 rear. Superb for gravel in the moors/pennines/dales. For road I simply swap the front for 42 ring but don’t use the 42 rear as the 2nd cog is like riding 36-32 on a 2x and I get better chainline when climbing.

Dave, the bike is absolutely mint especially in the gold colour way. In fact if I had the funds I would pretty much replicate it only with 650b wheels.

Aw thanks mate. It does look good with 650s too

Two things; 1 - no one needs to tell you what they think of this bike because it is SO clear you love it. 2 - Allen key bolts great, except when they’re donkeys years old attaching cleats to a pedal. Any advice on removal gratefully received. (And 3 - love the bike)
@DaveNoakes
@DaveNoakes 3 ай бұрын
Thank you. My tips for clear bolts…make sure you scrape out all the crap in Allen hole, give the cleats a liberal spray of wd40, wedge the Allen key in as far as possible…and pray.

dave i think the clutch is to manage the extra chain length for the big cassette. best to use it dude

My gearing at the moment: 46 x 17 (Wabi single speed). Hoping to build a steel, mechanical "gravel" bike for these rough SF Bay Area roads, one day.

Might be a silly question, but is there any drawback of having the clutch 'on' all the time?
@DaveNoakes
@DaveNoakes 3 ай бұрын
I’m not sure…I don’t think the gears shift as well…then again I could have just made that up 😂

@@DaveNoakes well, if you see anything funny with the clutch on, i'd be interested to know :D (even though i don't have a clutch right now)

Is the gear cable a little long? 😂
