We definitely need more events that are not centred around alcohol but are about connecting as human beings on a deeper level, talking about the realities of life without needing extra (liquid) courage and, engaging in fun, interesting activities, with a clear, sober mind.

Our gal is back we love you , I made a decision not to drink the whole year of 2019 and amazing thing happened that year , I made a non drinking decision again end of last year and I have not smelled alcohol the whole of this year and this are the most life changing decisions that I have made in my life and they are very rewarding , its not easy but its doable , our bodies are wired to do anything its our mind that we have to convince.

A lot of social activities are centered around alcohol. Yes, in Kenya. I've lived in three countries and for sure young Kenyans need more social activities that are not centered on alcohol. It's also been great to see young Kenyans embrace hobbies like hiking, traveling, volunteering, bike riding at Karura and so on.

And even just sitting with juice and mocktails and a DJ playing good music. Why is music only the reserve of pubs. We drink coz all the good music, great sound systems, good loud music is at bars only

Hi Janet Having you step up and share your journey is soothing. Alcoholism is real, and having loved ones who tend to confine in it is heartbreaking. However there are many healthy ways that one can channel that energy and make the most out of it. I am an art therapist and yoga teacher, and I try my best to assist many find the light within.

Yes... Please. Bring on the sober events. I'm starting to get memory loss early in life coz of drinking.... And not the crazy ass drinking but every weekend typa drinks or alternate weekend drinks.

I'd say as an Adventist, most activities and parties I've been to have no alcohol. I can say almost 99.9%. I may not understand the struggle with alcohol but I think joining a community of believers who have made a decision not to drink is one great way of starting off. Church has a lot more to offer.

Quire inspiring video. So many non drinking lively social events happen in one overlooked place. This place is called a church. This might be weird to some people but if you join a church and you become an active member, you will discover that there's so much pure fun there. What you gain is soo much more than the thrill that alcohol brings.
