I bought these and they are awesome! Magnificent quality, they don't fall apart and the soft leather makes reading comfortable and even more enjoyable! I really like the artwork on the books, the colors, etc. They're just incredible!

Pros - Comfortable when holding - Flexible leather makes it resilient to bending if you want to sell them for the most if you decide to do so -Aesthetically pleasing to the eye Cons -Thin pages that are somewhat see through when the next chapter is in the next page, also makes them easily vulnerable to tearing - Small text that could be an issue for somebody who has trouble reading small print

Andrew Manford I went ahead and bought it for two reasons. First, unlike most of the people who are watching this video, I have not yet actually bought or read any books in the series (I've watched the first season of the show, and that's it). I'm assuming most of you have already bought the books in one form or another. Second, I found it for a helluva a price, FAR under MSRP (I paid $35, MSRP is $75). I would not have paid full price for it because of the reason already mentioned. But at $35, I figured if the same or a better set comes out when all the books have been released, $35 was not that big a deal and I would rather regret buying it than regret not buying it.

lizbennetgenova To tell you the truth, my gut says neither. That they won't publish the last two in this style, period. I hope I'm wrong, but that's what I think is the likeliest scenario.

metal134 oh right you mean because of the negative feedbacks (I've read some people complaining it's too small and they can't read it etc. etc., whether they're right or wrong), actually I guess you're right, that's even more likely...pity tho, the covers are beautiful and elegant, i would have loved the full set on my shelf more than the ones showing crowns and blades on the covers, which imo make the series look just 'a fantasy amongst others', while it's not... I don't even read fantasy, usually (I love HP but that's not really 'fantasy'). That's why I own the landscape edition of the books instead of the common one, but I'd like to get a better one. Anyway, thanks for the reply :-)

I liked it. Hardcover are really expensive for me and for $45, this set is GREAT. I will read the books for the first time (I haven't watched the show). At the end, the book itself is only the vessel for the work done

These are meant to be like bibles I'm pretty sure... obviously it will be harder to read the small letters but the quality of the books is amazing. If you get defective book or something you can easily return it for a refund or replacement

Your copy of "The Name of the Wind" is a trade paperback size; larger than normal paperbacks. These are roughly the same size as the standard paperbacks currently available.

Was so excited for this, but they honestly look like bibles... Was hoping it'd be a big chungus book 8 x 11 Hard back leather bound with a nice art and font on the cover with a tied in ribbon book mark.

I knew they would be pocketsize so i was actually pleased they were a bit bigger than a standard pocket book but if i had known how rubbery they felt i probably wouldnt have bothered. Its nice having the whole set though

They basically made them like bibles, with the flexible vinyl/leather covers, and really thin wispy pages. Man, I am disappointed. I was thinking about picking this set up, but the size alone is a deterrent. I prefer Trade paperbacks or Hardbacks. Mass Market paperbacks just aren't comfortable to hold for long periods of time.

The binding seems fine. Because of the cover material and their size they are pretty flexible so I imagine they are pretty hard to damage. They are like fat soft cover bibles

Where did you order from? I ordered this two months ago from cup house (out of Ireland-saw on Facebook). I've ordered from them once before and the customer service is non existent and shipping took two months. I gave another shot anyway cause it was such a good deal. Well now it's been two months. +bob bob Well they describe it as leather cloth but thats just a fancy way of saying faux vinyl leather. So the quality of the covers is a bit rubbery but ive just read through dance with dragons and its held up well. You cant tell its been read at all. For the size of the books and the price i paid the quality is acceptable. If you want it try get it for as cheap as you can or you might be disappointed if you pay full retail.
