The only logical explanation for black doom being obsessed with radical highway is, during sa2 radical highway is where shadow vowed revenge on the world for maria. So what better way for black doom to take control over shadow through his anger?, then to force him to experience the very place he started his anger-driven adventure

Not really. Radical Highway is going through Central City, the capital of United Federation. It's logical to obsess over enemy headquarters.

I saw a theory a while ago about why chaos island is in Sonic x shadow generations it being that all of shadows levels are connected to Sonic; Sonic runs through the ark in sa2, he runs through rail canyon in Sonic heroes, he runs through kingdom valley in 06, he runs through sunset heights in sonic forces and obviously he goes through chaos island in frontiers.

It kinda makes sense. The Time Eater was only sent to destroy *Sonic’s* history, and we’re never clear on how much control Black Doom has over the Time Eater. For all we know, he could only add Black Arms and other hallucinations on top of what the Time Eater was already doing.

Honestly, this is the best way to do it. I watched no trailers for the game, and the amount of joy I had at seeing Overlord and Mephiles was unmatched. I didn't know they were in the game and I was thrilled!

25:54 As very unlikely as it probably is, and it’s probably me coping, the only reason I can think of as to why there’s no Shadow 05 level is that maybe they’re probably saving it for DLC, if they do another DLC I would hope it’s a Shadow 05 stage, because I agree it’s odd that there’s no level from that game in a game about Shadow’s past, and I also wouldn’t mind a Sonic and The Black Knight level as well, and plus it would be a perfect excuse to put a Sir Lancelot skin in the game, kind of feels like a missed opportunity to not have that as a skin for Shadow, they give him a Terios skin, but not that?

I love the particularly interpretation that black doom keeps bringing back radical highway because that waa when shadow arguably at his most hateful and bitter. It's where we get the famous i promise you revenge scene. Black doom does know shadow history so of course he will bring back as a constant reminder to shadow when he wanted humanity to burn. I also love that each boss fight represents shadow to some degree. The biolizard is the prototype to the ultimate lifeform and represents a time where shadow was a extension of Gearld will, Metal overlord represents shadow when he was having a issue of identity. Metal sonic has long struggles with his identity as a copy of sonic not being to live for himself or follow his own path and for a time shadow struggles with who he is and Metal overlord literally copy shadow biodata,and finally Mephiles the dark copy shadow shade and form. Mephiles represents a past shadow has moved on from and will not allow himself to be overcome by. I think each of the bosses fit very well thematically for shadow in this game

A Shadow level I think that would’ve fit perfectly in the game was G.U.N. Fortress. I mean it’s literally the route where Shadow fully embraces his vengeance for humanity and Black Doom wins. It makes way more sense than Chaos Island. They didn’t even have to make new enemies, they could just re use the SA2 GUN Mechs.

Sunset Heights Act 1 is 1 of my least favorite Shadow Generations levels (because of the Radical Highway section.) The same applies to the other Radical Highway sections. However, i LOVE the actual Radical Highway levels.

To be fair, the original Sonic Generations trailers back in 2011 spoiled the entire game as well. The issue with these shorter length games is it's either impossible to hide everything when you market hype the game or be like Forces when it doesn't show everything yet still give you the feel like a sceptical fear of being mediocre. Also Shadow '05, looking at all their levels, they kinda suck since they all designed around the morality mission structure and I doubt Sonic Team could come up with a way to make any of those levels feel fresh and fun. Sure they can pick at best Digital Circuit/Mad Matrix but that'll also be another auto-rail level like Rail Canyon which will be repetitive going through the same kind of level although that doesn't stop Sonic Team for having 4 City levels in Sonic Generations. And just a mini rant here, I hate Sonic's current model in Forces/Frontiers especially when you have Shadow's current model for this game running side by side with the blue blur, Sonic's quills look alot shorter than Shadow's when in actuality they have similar length. Seeing them remade their iconic pose if you look close Sonic's quills are skewed to the side as much as possible to give you the impression they're longer than they actually are to try and match Shadow's doesn't look right and it felt really forced while Shadow never had this issue since his model is already perfect.

My only real critique with the story is that black doom’s return is way too casual . That and Gerald and Maria don’t really do much outside of post exposition. There’s no much interaction Black doom’s inclusion is meh. I feel his presence but he’s still so one note as always; we don’t even fight him in his normal fight, which only appears outside of holograms for like ten seconds

What I'm about to say may seem like a defense of Chaos Island's inclusion, but it's... more of a... "semi" defense? It's based purely on speculation, so it's the equivalent of someone pointing a gun at your head and then you going "You can only shoot me if you win a coin flip". No, I _don't_ know why I went with that metaphor. Guess having Shadow on the mind also makes you have guns on your mind too... wonder why that is? Anyway: Chaos Island _could_ (and to some extent, probably still _is_ even if my assumption is correct) just be lazy padding through asset reuse. _... Ooooooor_ it _could_ be subtle foreshadowing that Shadow --(heh heh, "shadow")-- _will go_ to Chaos Island at some point in the _future._ Eh? Eeeh? Pretty cool idea, right? ... ... ... aaaaaaand I can see the raised eyebrow already. No, I don't know how or why Shadow would even go there in the first place, not helped by the fact that I haven't even played Frontiers yet and have been avoiding spoilers like the plague (in short, I don't have the money to buy it, nor is my now 7 year old laptop capable of playing the game at a level that would satisfy me, but I'm still determined to make that specific game the very first blind playtrough of a Sonic game... OK, _mostly_ blind, but I digress while already digressing). Trust me, I am fully. Fully fully fully fully *_FULLY_* ... fully prepared to figuratively wear the clown costume in case I'm wrong, which is a very likely outcome, possibly even less than a pure 50/50. But nevertheless... it's not an impossibility, right? ... look man, I was one of the 3 people on this planet that genuinely wanted Infinite to show up in Shadow Generations regardless of the implications. I'm not huffing the proverbial copium, I created a Goddamn hyperspace where I can be freaking _consumed_ by it. (yes, I now realize how careful his inclusion would've had to be in order to avoid redundancy with character parallels, but, like I said, copium hyperspace)
