You should now be near Mount Elbrus which is the tallest mountain in Europe if the Caucasus counts as being in Europe, you should be able to get a clear view of it from the Georgian side. I visited Stepantsminda on a group day tour from Tbilisi in October 2019, would love to travel there independently! And the room with that view for that price, what a bargain compared to a similar view in the Rockies, Alps or Scandinavian mountains! Georgia is one of my favourite countries really.

sorry for this late comment. Just as info for the readers: Mount Elbrus is on the western side of Georgia and only accessible from the Kabardino-Balkaria russian republic. Gabriel was on the military georgian highway (which is almost eastern Georgia). I think the highest mountain he could see is Mount Kazbek.

Looks like truck jackknifed.. The collision term “jackknife” refers to a truck accident where a truck with two separate parts (a cab and a trailer) folds in on itself at the point of separation. The cab and trailer swivel where they are linked together, forming a 90-degree angle “V” shape.

Thank you for this video! I see the Caucasus Mountains. But, I think that the road to the them is dangerous one: it is narrow, a lot of traffic, lack of roadside refreshments as far as I can see, a lot of dogs, sheep stopping the traffic, no lights, and a lorry that suffered an accident. I am eager to watch your next video.

Hi Gabriel, You could drive anywhere in the world and encounter that form of driving in the mountains, it would be like any place you have visited. The only difference is the location you're driving around in and too it has such a familiar feel to it. Amazing enough the Caucasus mountains don't have ski slopes or cable cars, at least from the vantage point and perspective you give. They're an incredible mountain range and they don't seem exploited like the Alps or other magnificent mountain ranges they still seem innocent and untouched by man's hand.

I got nipped by a dog in Mexico once, barely broke the skin. I went to a health clinic to find out if I should get a rabies shot and they said all the dogs were vaccinated against rabies, so I shouldn't worry about it. When it comes to dogs I vibe them out, generally you can get a sense of which ones are friendly and which ones aren't. When in doubt, grab some rocks just in case.

If you worry at all, worry about spiders and cats. Cat teeth are like syringes so the wound seals up in seconds, trapping the particles to cause infection. Dog bites are typically survivable, unless you run up on a huge killer.
