I like this lecture about the essence of love, as I have made exactly the same experience in my own life. Love cannot be understood intellectually but has to be experienced in awareness and in our inner selves. You can love someone from a distance when you have found real unlimited and unconditional spiritual love,, which is not trapped in concepts. When you have experienced such unconditional love it means you are connected to the other person in a very natural way and this is such a wonderful thing. I totally agree that we have to first find compassion for ourselves before we can have compassion for others.

Exactly! Thanks My heart radiation and my Spiritual Being project the love and radiance of the Christ within me. Even if it is not felt by the physical selves of others, it is perceived by their spiritual selves. Whenever I look into the face of another, I see the face of Jesus. The face of Jesus that I project, is seen by others ONLY if I see the divinity within them. My heart radiation is only as powerful as my love for others. The worth of what I give depends solely on my gratitude for what I receive. It is harder, and therefore more blessed, to receive than it is to give. We give from our pride and excess, but receive with sincere humility and gratitude.

That is the shoking truth, about love. And when you meet one that, it just is there without any work, without any effort. So, you go on a journey to figure out what actually love is. And, then you learn that its withinn yourself, and in everyone. But, its so strange that there is so much self work is needed to find it within your self, and to also see it in others. But i feel at least way more connected to everyone, i can see my self way easier, and i can see behaind the veil easier than before. I guess that is a start. Love did that to me. Its preatty amazing how powerful love actually is.

There is Earthly Love...and Heavenly Love (Spiritual). Earthly Love is very limited. Spiritual Love is unlimited. Spiritual Love is all encompassing, unconditional, pure, non judgemental., total acceptance. Earthly Love is conditional, screwed from the lens if u will. How do I know this ?.. Loving your abuser is called masochism. It is a form of self-loathing. There is a word for loving your enemy, without self-harming, that is called mercy. Having an understanding of their behaviour without justifying it. Thinking if we went through their circumstances we might have ended up the same way. But i understood what you are aiming for. Love is who you are. Empathy, connection. You described it beautifully by using the metaphor of children, i understood the connection you are talking about.

Love is inseparable from us, it is part of our eternal spiritual nature. For us to be successful in life and to experience true love, we need to know who we are. Love is our essence. We need to experience love. This is why we are always looking for it if we don't experience it. When we are in the spiritual world, we always experience pure love. The spiritual world is our natural environment, our real home. When the spirit soul comes to the material world and takes on a material body, the soul is also covered by different layers of material energy. These layers are what a person often considers as themselves. We are covered by a mental body which is largely comprised on the mind. The mind is also material energy. When we are becoming covered by material consciousness, material desires, this is when our love becomes impure and turns into lust. The more self-centered a person is, the more lust dominates their life. When love shines through the medium of our false ego, it comes out on the other side as lust. Love is about giving pleasure to the one I love, about caring, sacrificing, wanting to see the other person happy. Then I am happy. Lust is about getting, thinking about myself. I am the center. Being in the center of all I survey is not my natural position. This is why a person will not experience real lasting spiritual happiness no matter how much they may get materially.

I want others to awaken to these truths (including myself, more), but there definitely seems to be an imbalance toward false belief structures and the need to quantify things, in order to accept them. There you go just what I was thinking love is unconditional and people don't look within themselves enough because I don't think they know how they've been conditioned to be desensitized by everything in society and I look within myself to realize that love if you look in at an animal they don't look outside they have love with them themselves and they express it to us like a little one a child they express it but then that's right when you said we get corrupted and we forget who we really are in essence as I've said in other comments we are spiritual beings having human experiences and I think the human experiences that we spiritual beings have affect us but I'm now seeing and have been for years the essence of myself we are no more than other versions of ourselves other people are other versions of us who agrees

Narcissistic abuse destroyed my life my self esteem my world view and made me so miserable for so many years especially during my teenage years. I still don’t understand how people can be so cruel and neglectful towards children . I have had many moments of love in my own life and am at peace if I died tomorrow. I found you today. I have known love before; as you say, experienced it. I have a question for you. Maybe there is a flaw in my concept of things though, but I have a strange fear of love. The way I see it is that people are not just like you but they are you in a different space and time. And yes what we put out affects us, like a drop of oil in the water, confined to a fish bowl. But also how you treat someone, their experience is your own, now and some other time, a different name, a different point of consciousness, in the web of consciousness. My concern is that the more I look into myself the more I fear that I am alone. And I don't just mean I don't like being alone. I enjoy my own company. I mean that if we are all one then there is only myself talking to myself. Which is fucking unsettling. I feel like this might all be faceted illusion, so complex as to avoid real awakening lest we implode and sit alone with only an echo of our thoughts. I have found your perspective today to be refreshing and I wonder whether you would tell me that I have the wrong idea. I'd be grateful if you could.

I love this site! However one thing I've noticed about all spiritual groups is the total ignorance of any and all sexual issues. This might sound gross but the reality of how sex affects all of humanity is simply left out of any consideration. But @ 12.10 minutes he himself explains that, this is because of the fact that in essence we all are one and the same. In fact this is a teaching found in the Brihadaranyaka upanishad. The upanishad says that everything becomes loveable to one person because one and the same Atman (soul) is present in everything whatsoever. Jesus has taught that one should love his neighbour as himself. But he has not given any reasoning for this teaching. Now we know the reason.
