Now if the Allegiance-Class had been introduced in Star Wars Rebels, I'm guessing it might've been done in two different ways. One: It's a new Imperial ship that was given to Thrawn by the Emperor to test it as a fear monger for the entire galaxy, showing the Imperial technological might to outlying systems. So Thrawn uses it as part of his invasion fleet of Atollon at the end of Season 3 to crush the Rebel threat in one fell swoop. Two: It was still in the late stages of fitting out over Oovo IV (It's first on-screen TV appearance since it was introduced in the Episode I Racer game from the N64) before it took off for it's shake-down cruise. Then Rebel intel learns of it & tasks the Ghost crew in destroying it. As a result, causing a prison break to occur across the whole complex.

I'm fairly sure those axial and trench ball mounted batteries are Ion cannons, not turbolasers. But i haven't found official confirmation so it's likely up for interpretation.

Star Wars is an ancient past that happened many eons ago compared to our modern-day timeline of Billions of Years, that's why most of the design and architecture of their technology and ships are monolithic-brutalist. Just are their ships having very exposed bridged and shield emitters let's not forget the bulky reactor, coupled with the fact they lack redundancy with their systems that's why any critical hits on their ships send them exploding to oblivion. I just left to wonder if Star Wars was a Story of an ancient past of a Far faraway galaxy I wonder what kind of technology, design, and architecture the modern timeline of Star Wars Galaxy when the Narrator narrates the Story

So aim for the relatively undefended bulge? right got it. Lets just hope the enemy doesn't have lot of well trained fighter/bomber pilots to take advantage of this weakness.

You are forgetting their shields, but there is enough firepower to pick them off.

@@ImperialsExplainedStarWars Honestly if we are just going off the films shields don't seem to stop fighters (Though they are meant to) and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of anti star-fighter defenses facing the rear and underside of those capital ships. And whilst it seems a little hazy a volley or two from some Ion cannons and then pop that reactor with a proton torpedo or two.

@@markgrehan3726 I think you need to study a little more to understand this subject. I have previously covered a video on SD shields etc so that may well explain your point. Weapons and shield strengths vary and a vessel's shields were not always up due to the massive amount of energy required to power them. SDs didn't always have their shields raised. However, obviously, in combat situations shields were raised immediately but would not last for long under continued bombardment from a concentration of targeting etc

@@ImperialsExplainedStarWars Tell that to Poe. In the Films Star Destroyers have been extremely easy to take out. I understand all that about shield strengths being different in combat and the types of shields but that's mostly out of film lore which makes things workable and cooler. Again in the films and books we see over and over Star Destroyers of various types get taken out fairly easily by what should be fairly weak opponents, so my point of say a bunch of Y-Wings taking out this Star Destroyer by coming up from beneath or behind where there doesn't seem to be any defenses and blasting that huge target of a reactor dome still holds true.
