I've heard Dan Bass' story several times, and it's amazing and frightening every time. This story has convinced me the Delta Zulu will be my next headset.

It’s crazy how dangerous this is. At Aviation High School I first learned about this and the importance of making sure pilots have a proper carbon monoxide detector. Lightspeed is definitely amazing for making Pilot lives a bit easier with an in-headset CO detector. I love it.

This is a very well produced video that recounts Dan's compelling story of good fortune and survival from a situation that has proved to be fatal for so many other aviators. It also demonstrates the hidden nature of CO poisoning and how quickly it can overcome a pilot. It's hard to choose one outstanding feature from amongst the many innovations that have been introduced with the Delta Zulu Headset, but I think that the inbuilt CO detection must rank as the most important one from an aviation safety point of view. Having an audible warning built into the headset was a very clever design decision as it enables the pilot to be immediately aware of CO concentration exceeding safe levels, while at the same time not requiring the pilot to be distracted from other, critical, cockpit activities. The degree of thought that went into the development of this feature is typical of that which went into all of the other components of this headset. I currently fly with a Lightspeed Zulu 3 headset and will be upgrading to the Delta Zulu at the first opportunity.

This is one of the most amazing stories in aviation annals. The number of variables that had to align for Dan to survive and provide a first hand account of how dangerous CO can be is truly astronomical. Thank you Dan for telling your story so concisely and with such clarity. The case is so compelling to have CO monitoring seamlessly integrated through one’s headset.

This is a true life saving feature and the fact that it is something you will always have with you as long as you are and you are wearing them make it almost foolproof to alway have a CO2 detector.
