My headset just turns itself off if it's not being used so trying to update the firmware while at home is impossible due to it switching off spontaneously. Not sure how this is supposed to work especially if the app takes ages to check (by the time it does the headset is off and you've got to wait again)

Please, for all that holy, make an option to instantly check and start a firmware download. Waiting up to 30 for the app to even check is ridiculous.

Video did not describe how to tell if the unit is recharging or not. How do I tell if my power supply is charging? I have it plugged into the wall and nothing is happening (no indicator lights or anything) I also do not own an iPhone so I'm unable to calibrate headset. Terrible!

Hello Lightspeed! I have a question regarding warranty, does Lightspeed warranty cover products that are bought from Canadian addresses while the product is used and stays in Canada? Or only inside the U.S? Thank you!

There must be a way for light speed to add an “install at your own risk” agreement so we can install our own. Not many professional helicopter pilots are going to sacrifice the downtime of shipping their helmet away or pay the extra money to buy a new helmet unless theirs is due for replacement.

Talk to me Lightspeed, I've gotta question! I've got my checkride for my PPL coming up next month and I've been looking at different headsets to gift myself after I pass (Godwilling). I've been looking at the A20 and Delta Zulu's and am leaning HEAVILY toward the DZ's for many reasons. But I have a big question, is there ducking? Like, if I'm listening to music while flying, does the music volume get lower when the radio starts receiving? Is that something offered by any headsets?
@LightspeedAviation
@LightspeedAviation 7 ай бұрын
The Lightspeed Delta Zulu offers a setting called ComPriority. When ComPriority is enabled and radio communications are detected, the volume of auxiliary devices will be significantly reduced to make incoming communication the priority. Please feel free to contact our customer support at 800-332-2421 if you have any additional questions on the Lightspeed Delta Zulu! We would love to help.

What is mic gain? Lol
@rightrudderaviation7884
@rightrudderaviation7884 7 ай бұрын
Gain is like a dial on a microphone or preamplifier that allows you to amplify the input voltage. By adjusting the gain, you can increase the strength of the electrical signal, making it more suitable for further processing and improving the overall audio quality. Basically it amplifies the input signal strength, allowing you to hear quieter sounds clearly.

I heard the one drawback of this headset is you cannot swing the boom in the opposite directions so if you are left-handed and normally leave the mic against the left side of your face, you’re basically out of luck.

This is the stupidest thing ive ever seen, USB type C is the standard around the world. Proprietary charging ports went out of style in 2009. Everything in my flight bag uses a type c to c cable to charge, now i will need to carry around an extra cable which i can potentially lose that only one place sells ...on top of that the 1600 dollar headset i ordered only comes with a UAC to type A cable for some reason. Lightspeed has the audacity to charge for a c to uac cable.... iphones stopped shipping with type a bricks in 2015 or something like that. Nobody uses type A to charge their stuff anymore. Ill be returning them as soon as i receive them, should have done more research. Also, why is the charging port not on the battery? My headsets stay in the plane.... i now have to remove them every few days just to charge them? These companies talk about "listening to their clients" not a word was exchanged between lightspeed and actual commercial pilots.

I am a Canadian considering flying the Hudson SFRA. I know it's called Class B EXCLUSION but is it still Class B? Do i need ADS-B or ADAPT authorization? Thanks, and great video by the way!
@turninmonyin2noise978
@turninmonyin2noise978 Жыл бұрын
You would probably need mode C and ADSB as you would be in the 30 mile mode C, ADSB vail. but you can call to get permission to be in the vail without them , as some old aircraft don’t have electrical systems. The exclusion zone over the river is not in the class B so other then CTAF position reports you don’t need to talk to anyone. I don’t know what ADAPT is but have never heard of a need for it. There are a couple of TFRs that can block the route on occasion, like when the Yankees ballgame is going on.

Here I was just about to dissect my old Zulu and retrofit them to my helmet and I found this video. But further investigation reveals I can only buy them retrofitted by an authorized installer. Is that correct? I can't just buy the kit for my own install?
@LightspeedAviation
@LightspeedAviation Жыл бұрын
@michaelking42, Thank you for your interest in our Zulu H-Mod kits. You are correct, these kits must be installed by one of our authorized installers. The reason for this is one of safety. As you know, a helmet is primarily designed to protect the wearer against injury or death. It is vital that modifications are performed without compromising the integrity of the helmet. Lightspeed has spent a great deal of time certifying our global team of installers. All our authorized installers are either helmet manufacturers or experts in performing helmet retrofits. We hope you choose Lightspeed for your helmet needs and would be happy to point you in the right direction. Please don’t hesitate to reach out either via email at [email protected] or by phone, at 800-332-2421, M-F from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm PST.

Had the same issue bro. I’ll bet you could hear everything for a couple seconds and then it all shut off? Just remove the batteries in the volume control unit and switch the tiny switch over. Every plane has a different audio panel so some work with mono and some work with stereo. If it doesn’t work in a plane, just switch it to the opposing spot and it should work fine. I found this out the hard way
