I could watch your videos 24/7! You are very creative and your videos are easy to follow. I've made fabric paper out of heavy white shop paper towels and acrylic paints. Love the texture and they make a great alternative to material for my Spirit dolls. Thank you again! God bless

Christine I have just watched most of your videos and I am so enthused with what you are making. You are very talented and an excellent teacher. What I was wondering was about the safety of sewing and cutting. I would imagine that the glue in the pieces would not be good for a sewing machine or a cutting blade, but you don’t seem to have any trouble. Does your machine suffer in any way after some time?

Hi Joyce Thank you for your lovely words. In answer to your question about my sewing machine coping with the stronger paper fabric other than change the needle sometimes it doesn’t affect it. I use my Bernina 1008 sewing machine and it copes fine. 👍🥰
@aussieyarning
@aussieyarning Жыл бұрын
Thanks Christine for your quick reply. I have heard that the Bernina is a much stronger machine for thicker materials. But I will try with mine anyway. I so want to make the things you have demonstrated.

For the more concentrated version of your glue, what ratio of glue to water do you use for this technique?
@tebbitttextiles2849
@tebbitttextiles2849 4 ай бұрын
It’s just an approximate but about 2/3 glue and 1/3 warm water. That should make it pretty stiff. Hope this helps x

thank you so much for responding! It does help! I've done my Amazon order to get the PVA glue to start right away! I was looking at the wallpaper liners, and there's so many different thicknesses. I imagine that getting one that is in between thin and middle thickness is the best. @@tebbitttextiles2849

Just found your channel and I love it !! Can you say again what kind of paper you started out again with on the felt ?
@tebbitttextiles2849
@tebbitttextiles2849 Жыл бұрын
Hi Lisha the paper I use for the stronger fabric paper is a plain wallpaper lining paper. It’s pretty thick and absorbs the adhesive very easily. It comes on rolls and is usually very inexpensive. Hope you can get where you are. Glad you like my channel 🥰

Do you have to seal the gold foil?
@tebbitttextiles2849
@tebbitttextiles2849 2 жыл бұрын
No not really as it’s just a splatter it should be fine. But if think you are going to handle it a lot you could always give it a covering with liquid acrylic medium. But I have never felt it needed that much protection. Does that make sense 😀

@tebbitttextiles2849

Hi Elizabeth Yes the felt is glued to the papers and adds a very firm structure to work with, either for a hard book cover or slips added to art work. Hope this helps x
