The 3pt shooter is overrated and not worth his money. They paid him so they can match contracts in trades. If he was a free agent, he probably gets less. 4 unprotected is my concern. But i'm a big McBride fan and he alone is worth at least 1 unprotected and 1 protected first. So its Bog, McBride and 3 picks or Bog and 5 picks. I'll pay 5 to keep McBride. Plus you getting Mikal hitting his prime, controllable and wants to play with Knicks.

@@TheScarwulf They tend to not do that 😂Especially today where role players are so talented. Role players are so good today that there is no such thing as a superteam anymore, only a top heavy team. You can throw all your money on three megastars and have lame role players around them but that aint going to work. The tried and tested method for the ages has always been get a top 5 player in the league, give him a complimentary co star and make sure they have really great depth. I don't think the Knicks quite have that though. They have the depth but not the top 5 player.

I'm confused. Bridges has been in the league for years and I had to look him up to see if this is a good trade for the Knicks. I think the Nets have robbed the Knicks here. Bridges shot under 40% from the field this last season and the Knicks gave up 5 first round picks for him? I don't know enough about Bridges to be harsh on him, as none of this is his fault, but this is a braindead trade for the Knicks. You looked him up and still got the numbers wrong. He shot .436 from the field. For his career he's 48% and 37.5% 3pt. Scored 19.6 ppg last season. Has made 1st team all-defense and runner up DPOY. When you add OG Anunoby you have the best pair defensive forwards in the NBA. Five picks IS a lot. But likely they are low first round picks. And the Knicks suck at drafting so why not take the proven player.

He certainly makes them better. We didn't have to add any of our role players. last yr was the first time Mikal had to carry a team. He is not that type of guy. He won't be that type of guy for us. last season he shot 43. 6%. A career low but where did you get under 40%. his 3pt shooting was under 40% but a respectable 38%. He is a career 48% shooter from the field. He also came in 2nd in Defensive player of the yr with the Suns out in the west. He was part of that 64 win team before KD blew it up. So you getting a 48% shooter who can score 20+ and win a game and also plays good defense. Pairing him with OG would be a great "Fit" along with Brunson who he won a chip with in College. 5 is too much but in context of "fit" his skills on both ends of the court, his youth (entering his prime) and his controllable contract, 26M-28M the next two seasons. He is only getting better. He doesn't take away as we still have our role players. This is like a free agent signing. Bog was never a core piece. Whereas, someone like PG who cost 48+M looking for another 200+M as he exits his prime. 5 is a lot but at least we didn't have to add McBride who could had probably saved us a pick or two. I rather have McBride.

Bridges efficiency will likely go right back up now that he's like the 3rd or 4th (if they resign OG) player on the team. Especially with the way teams need to often double Randle and Brunson. I'll agree with people who think he's not worth that many picks, but NY is in the position to make this trade with the draft capital they have. At a certain point it's better to use them to get better than to just stockpile them. And I think he's a good fit on this team. Already has chemistry with the Nova guys, great defensive fit, and one of the better trade targets available because his contract isn't too big that stops them from going after OG, which will be the next big step for the Knicks. If they can resign OG then they're looking really good.

@@ScottPitcher I agree it's a load of picks but like I said the Knicks usually miss even in the top 10. Look at the 20-30 range picks from the 2018-2022 drafts. That's 55 players over 5 years and the only star is Tyree Maxey, plus a couple good ones like Jaden McDaniels, Quickley, Pritchard, Matisse Thybell. So about a 2% chance to get a star and 10-15% chance of a solid role player. I'll take the known quantity.

I think they are right up there in terms of competing with them. The Knicks are very tough defensively and all of those nova guys can shoot too. Better?
