I take it that you haven't travelled much, because that's true for all cultures. Even in America you're expected to grow a pair and stop whining like a bitch. Same for India, people are expected to man up and bear the brunt of whatever. All of middle East, Africa, South America, and even Europe has this culture. Try finding an emotional man in Italy, Germany, France, Russia, or England. The British are famous for their 'stiff upper lip'? Most of modern countries have a long history of warriors. That's how we've managed to exist. The only people who openly display emotions are on TV. And that's because its needed to let the audience know what the character is going through internally. In real life, these same people would display the same aloofness as everyone else. That whole vulnerability being likable is stupid TV shit. Nothing particularly special of Afghans there. They're not the only warriors around. Stop unnecessarily romanticizing them. They're just another ethnic group (and not without their own social evils). Nornal people.
@059echo4 жыл бұрын
@@daakudaddy5453 My reference here comes from culture of the Afghans and their past ... Not everyone is a whiner i agree but not everyone is a descendant of a warrior culture either ... You cannot compare a brit with a stiff upper lip and an afghan from a very different up bringing scenario ... These guys have been born , brought up and grown old in the middle of endless conflicts which are still ongoing and such scenarios do impact ones nature and the nature of handling a crisis. So your comparision is relating to something totally different to what im talking about. Thanks for the explanation though :)

thats one good thing about these channels though. @LordPrometheous4 жыл бұрын
@@059echo don't listen to Daaku Daddy--either he's out of touch with reality, or he's not lived in America. In this country, mentally competent people don't feel the need to hide their feelings after losing a child, especially a mother; that's ridiculous. They may try to be strong for their surviving children who need their support and guidance, but aside from that, nobody even expects someone to pretend nothing happened after losing a child. That's the sort of thing people may take a leave of absence from work for, or maybe not come back at all. It's not "whining like a bitch", it's being a human being. You should be able to see from the tone of that guy's entire comment that he likely has a personality disorder. Ignore them, and don't feel the need to explain your position or defend your comments from someone like that. Peace be unto you.

Shokoor seems to be like me. I bet he is a trickster and likes laughing a lot. I hope to see more of him in future videos. He has, what we call, "Laughing Eyes". Shamsullah appears to be a very calm and thoughtful man; a philosopher of sorts. Huma looks to be a methodical and careful person who wants to think about her experiences and remember them well. She seems to exude a feeling of peace and comfort. I can't wait to hear more of her thoughts and opinions. Hairaan has a beard like mine. But mine is more grey and not black like his. I see him as a man with a strong mind who is not afraid to say what he is thinking. He is very confident and comfortable with himself. Jamshid appears to be a very active man who wants to have and share adventures. He seems to be a man who has a desire to go, and see, and do many things with little fear.

This was a really insightful character description. You gotta give writing a shot.

@@rigeurmortis1 I've been told that before. And I've actually dabbled a bit with short stories. But recently, I've done no writing. I'm retired now, so perhaps I'll give it a shot again. I would share two of my short stories with you, but I don't know if an easy way to do it while maintaining privacy for both of us.

"Food is as good as their culture." An innocent albeit profound statement about how cuisine breaks down and transcends barriers. The only thing is that I've had Afghan pizza. Now, it may be that they had never had pizza quite like this before, but I used to get Afghan pizza up in Arlington, VA 30+ years ago.

You are not wrong. I live in a very rural area and the food our locals cook is usually very bland and they tend to be very boring people. Nice but boring.

@@TheMajorpickle01 lol, it's probably just american pizza. Afghans don't put goat meat on it. At least none that i know do...
