A TERRIBLE PPV! JCW Legends & Icons

JCW Legends & Icons will go down as one of the worst PPV's of all time, as bas as Heroes of Wrestling. This PPV took place in 2011 and had insane star power on the show. Mick Foley had his 2nd last match. Roddy Pipper had his final match. Rikishi, Raven, Rhyno, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Billy Gunn & X-Pac amongst others appeared on the show. Loads of familiar faces from WWE and WCW. Unfortunately most of the wrestlers booked on the show were in their 50's and 60's and the wrestlers could barely move. It created an extremely depressing show with nothing worth watching. Mick Foley on commentary was the only point and the whole show came off as someone trying to amuse themself. The Juggalows will not be proud of this one!

I was thinking that Mabel would have to win the battle royal, due to his inability to take the bump over the top rope (à la the Iron Sheik at WrestleMania X-Seven). I was correct, but the booker evidently disagreed.

I miss Piper... I won a radio competition in England in 1992 when I was 7 and interviewed him on air and he had me sat on his knee and told me I reminded him of his son who he missed, there was my brother and another kid there who won the competition but he only really cared about me, I always wanted to meet him again and get another chance to meet him and maybe sign my photo but he passed away before I got the chance..... Without doubt my best interaction with any celebrity and the reason I'm interested in any wrestling content on KZbin.

During 2011, Bob Backlund, IF given a decent opponent, could still put on a well made wrestling match (NOT a five star classic, but during 2011 he was still capable of putting on competent matches... IF given a decent opponent to work with). Unfortunately, by 2011, Ken Patera was NOT that type of opponent. Bob Backlund vs Ken Patera during 2011 is like Bob Backlund vs a giant cheese burger. Doesn't matter what skills Bob has, he can't properly wrestle a cheese burger with legs. LOL.

My buddy and I actually watched this live on PPV - we thought it would be fun for some reason. It was held at Gathering of the Juggalos and didn't start until Ice Cube finished on the Main Stage so it was HOURS late of the advertised time. It literally didn't start until almost 7am UK time. No wonder the crowd were so pissed (and half the talent were a different kind of pissed).

WWE missed the boat completely in 1986 not booking a Piper/Orton Jr Vs Terry/Dory Funk Jr. match, and having it on one of their first PPV event like The Wrestling Classic, or The Big Event in Canada. I would pay for a heel Vs. heel tag match like that. Sadly, Piper Vs. Funk sucked here.

@Markyd123 - there was some storyline involing doubts about Vampiro alliance with Juggallo community. Originally it would be all clear at the next's night Bloodymania. But there's one more thing, the JWO vs. NAO match was initially planned to have X-PAC as a guest referee with Hall teaming up with Nash. This was changed due to Halls intake of drugs and alcohol through the entire weekend of Juggalllo's Gathering. P.S. This was Nash's last match on Indies between leaving TNA and coming back to WWE.

I actually voted for this one when you posted the poll a few days ago. I did it hoping for a funny bad PPV since I just recently re-watched the mini-series you did for the WWA PPVs, but maaan was this one bad... Bad and sad and also pretty degrading for everyone involved. Why was this on PPV? Why did the legends involved accept to muddy their image in such a manner? The fans may have booed everything out of respect, so they give some sort of reaction at all because how could anyone cheer for anything that was presented here?!

I find it interesting how so many small-time or up-and-coming promotions think that, just featuring people from the 80s to 90s guarantees draws. granted, cashing in on nostalgia is a thing, and many of those guys were really big names back then, but when they're so rusty and barely mobile (to wrestling standards), it should make one wonder if it's really worth it. idk, I just think having the NWO won't cover up the uncaring crowd, direction problems or the very subpar Battle Royal. have legends on your show, sure, but maybe vet the ones that can still go if they're gonna wrestle?

While they are exceptions to the rule, old men generally physically suck at everything. However, the issue is that most old men never realize this. @@ReetinEntertainment I'm with you, but I saw a clip of an interview and one them goes "I've spent 25 years hanging out with my best friend and getting rich, I do not care what any haters think" and really respected that. That's the dream!

Everyone talks shit about the clowns and their wrestling EXCEPT wrestlers that have worked for them. Nothing but good things to say about them as promoters 🤷‍♂️

They may put on shows with bowling shoe tendencies, but at least they treat the wrestlers well, pay them what they deserve and don't rip off anybody.

Watching this osicllates beetween shaking my head and a strong "da fuq that i just saw" scream. What a mess from start to finish. Sure most of the workers were legends but they should NEVER stepped into this ring or any other ring ever, EEEEVVVVEEERR (:P) again. However, the hawk's great commentary can fly forever ^^

I'm sorry for doubting you at the intro, MarkyD, this was quite something. At least HoW had Lane vs Blanchard, which wasn't that good, but at least the pre-match promos made it mean something, I suppose.

My goodness that was scary bad. Modern day NWA brought Mick Foley in for a PPV in 2019....... and he just got to talk. They brought Ric Flair in at the 73 show... and he just got to talk. It's better this way.

I was at this event. Yes it was cringy but for the hard-core juggalo wrestling fans it was an experience to see the old names come up and dust off thier gimmicks. I met piper a few weeks later and he was in a neck brace I asked him if it was from his match with funk and he was blown away I knew that's how it happened and that I was there.
