I think somewhat recently they added Zuran Orb, a couple more draw 7s, and some cards that are good if you are already picking draw 7s (Bowmaster, Hullbreacher). Crucible and Ramunap were already around, but this deck did just fine along some other axes of attack.

@1:52 - I'm so glad the cube is using original artwork now. It makes it easier to follow along as someone who doesn't have MODO and doesn't recognize the different art. I straight-up won't recognize Power 9 because they're using something different.

It makes me unreasonably happy to see Titania + Zuran orb pop off in Vintage cube. It is one of my favorite EDH combos with Titania as my commander :)

I think on the turn you block the 3/1 with Gargaroth you should have double blocked with the 2/2 also. The assumption was there would be incinerate to kill Gargaroth with first strike damage, thus leaving the 2/2 to finish off the 3/1. It didn't turn out that way, but this seems like 100% the right way to have played it.

I think Zuran Orb is currently underrated, it has some great 2 card combos. Great draft, always love team vintage cube.

Makes me wonder what time period everyone in these drafts started playing. Zuran Orb was before I started, but I still heard about the absurdly busted combos it pulls off. Found a copy in the dollar box one day at the shop, stuffed it in a deck with Land Tax, and went "Oh. OHHHH." 🤣😭🤣

I've started watching this series from the beginning, and after this episode I'm finally convinced that Time Walk is the best card in the cube. This looked like one of the weakest decks so far, but it easily 3-0'd off the power of Walk. Very impressive.

For consideration pack 2 pick 9: The House with Fastbond and Zuran Orb can really go off. I managed to assemble it all in one nutty storm deck I drafted last month; though, to be fair, I already had Tinker before picking up Citadel. Still, something to think about!

Does your cube allow the use of both snow and non-snow basics? This would be useful for having up to two basics producing the same color and still meeting the requirements for a "perfect" Tainted Pact.

I don't get why won't you play Wrenn and Six in the deck - it seems amazing with the fetches, Wasteland, Titania and Zuran Orb. It seems ok to splash it without adding mountains aswell... 😢

Is there a rule prohibiting or discouraging sideboarding in between games, once you know what other people are playing? I see several games where LSV has instant sideboards after the first game, but he never sideboards in between, even though presumably he knows who he is playing next and what they are playing.

If you mean between matches, yes. You have to play your deck the way you built it originally for the first game, and can sideboard between matches. Game one is always with your deck as you built it in the time allotted after the draft and before round 1.

I don’t understand not using wasteland on turn one against a triome. Maybe because LSV knows opponent has no color splashes? The argument of not making a play doesn’t make sense to me for exactly that first turn.

Mine's the other way around, but yes. (Sol ring over lotus... but I don't draft as much combo as LSV.) I'd rather have the repeatable boost than the one-off. (I'm probably just salty that my breach decks don't work as well as they ought. Getting there. Slowly)

I don’t think it’s really underrated. It’s almost an auto-pick unless splashing blue is completely out of the question.

I think in cube it's because you aren't doing as many broken things as constructed. A lot of the time, Time Walk is just a really fancy, blue Explore. Sol Ring is a higher priority because the likelihood of a turn two, four CMC creature being able to win the game on its own is really high. In regular Vintage, however, I'd put Ancestral Recall as #1, Black Lotus as #2, and Time Walk as #3 for the best cards. There's so many stupid things you can have going on when you get to play Monastery Mentor, Demonic Tutor, all five moxen, Doomsday, etc. that make Time Walk kill people out of nowhere.

I put Time Walk at #1, Sol Ring at #2, and Black Lotus at #3. Ancestral Recall is a lot worse than all of those. If it's pack 2 or especially 3 and I open Ancestral but I'm not blue, there are *definitely* many cards I'd take over it, whereas in many cases I'd still take Time Walk even not being in blue.

Unpopular opinion: I think the switch to alpha/beta arts is a net negative for me. Either the cards themselves or the digital versions of many of them are just straight up unreadable, and they are far too old for me to recognize the art on them. Like that fastbond in pack 1 I didn't have any idea what that was until Luis said it.

You are probably in the minority for viewers on this channel. I find the newer arts harder to recognize because the originals are the originals. And for every old card that us difficult to read, there are 10x as many secret lair and bonus versions that are litteraly unreadable.
