If I owned a restaurant and Dali came in and ordered a lobster, I’d fucking cook a telephone and serve along with the lobster, just as in his art. Not sure why they missed that opportunity lol

Title: art movements First example: art period

To this day I honestly can't understand why a toilet in the middle of a room is considered art :/ the most rational explanation someone gave me is "because the author is a brand and his name is the thing that sells, not necessarily his work, which sure, that explains Belle Delphine's bathwater, but man, that is depressing as hell...

because there was an expo that accepted all art so the guy wanted to test the limits and just signed a urinal (in the logic that, if you sign it, it becomes a work of art), which was not accepted, despite their claim of accepting everything. He then went on to question "what is art" and stuff. So that urinal questions the very meaning of the word art. or something like that

Idc, it’s trash

Dadaists were basically the OG memelords.
@mattecrystal64032 жыл бұрын
@@KevinKurzsartdisplay The toilet thing was literally the guy making fun of how dumb the art world was becoming and how they would glorify literally anything. If my understanding is correct, (which who knows maybe I'm wrong) but I was under the impression when learning about it in class that he rejected the notion that this was art and or maybe he considered it art but he considered it trash art. IDK if this is true for Dadaists in general but for the toilet work in particular I belive this was the case.
