It has a great shine and is a good-looking formal dress shoe. I normally buy Allen Edmonds dress shoes, but I might have to give Crokket & Jones a try. Thanks for showing your videos.

When I buy bew shoes, I always clean, nourish, use a cream, then polish, and like you just demonstrated so very well, add a shine to the toe. All with Saphir products

Nice tip. I’ve been polishing my shoes with traditional “spit shine” method since I was 6 years old. Learned it from my two brothers who are 10 and 9 years older than I. I’m 67 now and still love my shoes shined before wear them. Nice tip with blue polish. Will give it a try.

I’m sure that I have read that navy blue pigment is added to the black inks used for fountain pens, printing and tattoo inks. Maybe the navy blue makes the black “blacker”.

Great video with solid advice. Curious, what kind of watch are you wearing?

Dear Sirs, should I have new shoes fitted with a protective sole? Thank you here from Vienna in Austria, best wishes, Manfred Knie
@rhodeswood55132 ай бұрын
Personally I would wait whilst the need re soleing and the ask for a Danite soul etc. Most warranties are voided with the manufacturer if the shoes are added to by a cobbler ( except heels). There are so many to choose from now with Danite soles🤝🤝

i've been using saphir navy shoe polish (not wax) on some of my black shoes as an experiment. if i understand correctly, the shoe will just have a deeper shade of black rather than having tints of navy yes?
@rhodeswood5513Ай бұрын
I would do it the other way round… black cream polish … then navy wax on the toes…. It’s the difference in shine that makes it look shinier 🤝

Question, I use similar products but find after wearing my shoes post polish they last for a few hours before they lose the shine and show minor scuffs. Any way around this?
@rhodeswood55136 ай бұрын
I find that with a good few layers of polish on… you can quickly brush of dust , then breathe on the them and buff them back to a very wearable standard… 45 seconds🥂

Why don’t shoes come with the kind of shine you achieved? It is akin to buying a pair of trousers that had not been pressed or a un ironed shirt
@rhodeswood55132 ай бұрын
Calf shoes in a hand grade do , but regular line are polished but not taken to the next level. Some people don’t like the ‘bulked’ look and find it hard to keep with. 🤝
@theofarmmanager2672 ай бұрын
@@rhodeswood5513 thank you for this. And for confirming that I have only ever bought regular line shoes! I did use to buy Cheaneys or Church’s (from shops on Jermyn Street which I don’t think was a clever financial decision) and always wondered why they came - to my mind - half polished. Now I know; I’m a regular line guy; not special; just common; a failure; a let down to myself and the family.
