I think Penthesilea is the hardest because you are completely surrounded by enemies and you cant hold cities. Also you can't completely lose a battle or you're done. Plus the constant drain on the economy until the late game. I got lucky and survived for 100+ turns and my army could take on 40 unit stacks no problem but when the Trojans started losing I couldn't do anything with only 2 armies but Penthesilea was a juggernaut for me along with the griffins and centaurs and her special units all in one stack.

Easiest was sparta. Hardest, to me, was Mycene. Why: A. Your low tier units sucks B. Your high tier units eats so much bronze C. Lion's share is just useless, just one click and your vessels go ape shit on you. Also, if you make more vessels AI is just suck that they can't deffend themselves well when some neighbouring countries declare war on them.

I thinks hector has the hardest starting position from trojans, because the neutral factions to the east declare war real quick and betray non aggression pacts as well. Also all the other trojans have pacts with these guys so they don't help.

Achilles is actually quite easy. I mean if you get the hang achiles is quite alright. A. He's just mean ass fight machine munching up any heroes. B. He's units are expert flankers. C. One of the mood swing can buff up your economy or your army. Sure, there is a trade off, but still, I say, trade off is just forgettable if you got the hang. Likia......well........ I kinda find them quite boaring.

i playing campaing with achilles. almost all my battles are sieges,didnt even notice the flanking stuff because no ones dares to fight me on open field. dont get me wrong i barely lose any battle. its just all damm hate me and achilles cant be everywhere and when you have the power. and meet the acheans. Power penalty lol.

achilles so damm hard lol troy diplomacy system suck. like rome's 1 one. even puny factions declare war on me being me first power by far. Great vid. Cristal clear who is the easiest faction to play so good for start to get stuff done on legendary

Imo Odysseus was BY FAR the weakest. Yes, he has a very safe starting position. And infinite gold. BUT, his units are a complete joke, they are horrendous. After that its Paris. He has good units, and as you said the Troyan power is stacked together. Sadly none of that helps when you have literally 10 different armies coming at you in groups and waves. In the end what happens is you are able to just hold on to 1 town, and due to the big army that you have to control to defend yourself you end up losing to low food and resources. At the same time Hector is just chilling around melting half the map on your side while the AI is full on ignoring anything that is not you. Even going on full suicide missions just to keep you down. The rest were fairly ok. Maybe Achilles is also on a bit of a down side if you dont know how to manage his temper in harder difficulties. But at the same time all you really need to do is piss him off, and unleash. He will do the rest with a half competent army. Pray to Poseidon and Ares for max pillage and you are as good as it gets.
