100% agree. Tim walked out there with "hubris" and "arrogance". I'd love to see him fight Zerafa (Nikita's not ready for it). Tim needs input from other people outside of his team, who seem to be more barrackers than coaches. Tim's an enormous talent, surrounded by people who love him, perhaps too much. Listening to Shawn Porter, I'd like to see him in Tim's corner. If I were Tim, I'd also consider Murtazaliev's offer to train with him as well. Murt is going to destroy this division. That wasn't a hard fought win, that was an anhilitaion of a guy who has previously been a world champion.

Isn't it ironic that Zab Judah with Mike Tyson and about 50 other sycophants went down the same way against Kostya? He shouldn't have taken that fight man. Bakhram is Russian, you can't take a fight against an undefeated Russian after a devastating loss. Tim's people are pushing him extremely fast and it's reckless. They should have stopped the fight after the cut with Fundora-they didn't. They should rebuild Tim's confidence by taking a soft touch and test out the cut before throwing him into the lion's den.

I agree, it may have been slight arrogance or I can't help to think the first hook left him concussed and he then reacted on emotion trying to bang it out, disregarding his defense and out went the game plan..The first knockdown was because Tim threw the same shot, same angle, no feinting, and no guard, and Tim was telegraphing that left hook to the body - Bakhram easily read it and countered Tim with a left hook, each time. If Tim took his time I'm still not sure he breaks Bakhram down

@jaybee8581Ай бұрын
Great interview and comments by Peter. After the 1ts round, I thought Tim would back off and ease back into the fight instead of what he produced. Fair play to Bakhram, a monster at 154. Tim's arrogance was for everyone to see in the lead up to the fight, giving his opponent zero respect. That goes for his team as well. If you can't be bothered to watch tape of your opponent, you don't deserve to win. Tim needs to eat his humble pie, knuckle down and do the hard work and come back a better fighter. Wow, going from super fights with Crawford, Spence et al to fighting Michael Zerafa on a mid week $30 pay per view on Fox Sports is the reality check he needs. He should watch the Crawford v Spence fight and see how Spence got belted coming forward not showing any respect to TC.
@princejohn6560Ай бұрын
If Tim wants to rebuild his career getting rid of his current corner would be a step in the right direction. He was allowed to continue the Fundora fight with his head split open and again in this recent fight his corner showed no concern for his well-being by allowing him to continue fighting concussed after the end of the second round. In was evident by the fourth knockdown in the third round that Tim was in LaLa Land and should not have been allowed to go on but instead Murtazaliev is permitted one more brutal knockdown before the towel goes in.
@Grudeman408Ай бұрын
These journalists have no idea what it's like getting punched in the head or concussed. Boxing isn't tennis or football, Tim was really badly hurt post fight he couldn't string a full sentence together. He should evaluate his long term health, he is never gonna get better at his age and after a beating like that, take your money and move on to something else, that would be my advice. Their is way too many young hungry extremely talented guys out their and they will hurt you.
@peaceseeker9927Ай бұрын
It was crazy for Tim to take a fight with such a skilled and hard hitting fighter like Murtazaliev, especially after what happened in the Fundora fight. And even if he did take it he should have been training serious and long enough as if he going up against the most dangerous P4P fighter. The overconfidence of his team was absurd. They are incompetent. I assume it was not all Tim's idea.

Sometimes I don't understand how a fighter can fight at this level and lack so much common sense. Did Tim's corner think that he's the only guy who dedicates his entire life to boxing? The lack of respect resulted in a much needed humbling tonight, what more in front of his dad. Zero common sense trying to walk the bigger man down, instead of feeling him out and assessing him first. Showed 0 defense like he did against Mendoza and Fundora, didn't use any head movement, hardly threw his jab. Arrogance pays. I'm a fan of Tszyu but he ain't gonna go far if he continues fighting the way he does. Being a warrior doesn't equate to being a world champion. That whole Australian tough guy thing is a poor excuse to just keep fighting the same way every fight.

Problem was Tim running off at the mouth, and getting ahead of himself, calling out Crawford,Spence and company. He stated he was going to knock the Russian out. The Russian even said he talks too much. I noticed the bulls/@t talk started about the same time he was making a move on the USA. I find it to be a bit cringeworthy, and not his personality. He would be better suited to his humble background like his father. The other issue is main event, and his team, what the hell were they thinking, putting him against an unbeaten world champion, coming off the loss to fundora. Main event and his team were looking at dollars not the mental health and physical health of Tim. Praise to the Russian, can’t say his name let alone spell it. He was superb, crisp sharp jabs, vicious left hook, timing for counterpunching was spot on, although, Tim made it easy for him, by walking straight up and in, with no defence.
