It really is... Not sure where you are from, but I'm from the US. Coming from the US, everything seems different. The vegetation and wild life feels very prehistoric. The air is crips and clean. Really, everything is clean... I've been pretty much everywhere between Brisbane and Melbourne. It is BEAUTIFUL.

Yep, I'm quite surprised that his local interactions have been very minimal here despite being in an English speaking country where convos with strangers are pretty common, which would lead to some great local insight. He's lacking the usual sense of adventure here too with a majority major city focus (as opposed to Japan for example, where he was quick to get away from the cities despite no language ability). Maybe he's just touching the surface of Australia to tick it off the countries list or meet some kind of demand from people who watch his stuff, but yeah not sure why he's been so "tame" here in Oz and reluctant to engage with people around him?

@@TomMac1 Tom, he can do anything he likes. No one is judging. But he is missing out on so many things. There are free walking tours around the cities, run by volunteers. In Sydney for example he could have learned about the Indigenous history and visited sites with ancient rock paintings. Or visited some Indigenous art galleries. The convict history is also ,to me anyway fascinating. There are also lots of places to eat cheaper and better. Each to their own.

Love your video of Brisbane. I know you’re around Brisbane and Gold Coast in such short time. There’s Southbank in Brisbane with a man made beach and the Queensland museum and art gallery. It’s a bit of a distance, there’s also north Stradbroke island where you can get the ferry and bus to the lookout and a few nice beaches.

The Sunshine Coast is actually just North of Brisbane and the Gold Coast to the South. If you cross the border South into NSW there are the North Coast (of NSW) towns and beaches, the Byron Bay area etc. All of these areas are worth seeing. Theses are not your typical prices for eating out in Australia. You seem to have a knack for picking the most expensive restaurants in the most expensive tourist areas everywhere you visit. I think they saw you coming. That's a $20 meal max, in 90% of the country. And if you can't find a schooner of beer for $5 then you are truly sucked in. The locals know all this and thats why there are not that many people are around where you have been. No local would buy a meal at a restaurant right on Bondi Beach for example. The best quality and best value restaurants are not in tourist areas. Ask a local. I live in a gorgeous seaside town on the NSW Mid Coast, 300kms north of Sydney. You have a dozen pristine beaches with no stingers, no crowds, a room costs you $90 per night. The local pub will serve you a full meal (2 courses) for $25 and a beer costs $5.50.

$100 per night for that hotel room is the best deal you've gotten so far in Australia. Wow! Spacious room and a great view! Good deal. I think if I were in Australia, I'd just pronounce the tricky place names like Melbourne and Cairns as they're spelled with my normal Canadian accent. If I tried to pronounce them as a genuine Aussie does, it wouldn't sound natural. They'll still know the place you're talking about. Despite its vastly different climate, Australia reminds me so much of Canada. British heritage but multicultural now, huge land mass, largely uninhabited with a lot of wilderness, punctuated with just a few large, modern urban metropolises. They're very similar, in my opinion.

It's cheaper for me at the moment to travel overseas for holidays. Food in most places restaurants and cafes is also expensive unfortunately, probably the cheapest option is a shopping centre food court or ready meals from a grocery store if you're looking for a cheap option :)

I don't know why you always eat in expensive restaurants. There are cheaper options for the same food if you look around or if you asked locals. I have been living in Queensland for 14 yeare (I'm from Asia) but i don't spend that much eating out.

Hi Gabriel. The other bird you saw in the park is a bush Turkey also protected. South Bank on the Brisbane River is also worth seeing opposite the city.

FYI the "British Commonwealth" (actually the "Commonwealth of Nations") is just a voluntary club of mostly ex British colonies. It implies no formal recognition of the Queen/King etc in any political way. Just a friendly club to keep ties. Most members of the Commonwealth are Republics. Countries like Australia and Canada that have the same monarch as the UK, ie Queen of Canada, Queen on Australia etc, are known as "Commonwealth Realms". These two concepts are frequently mixed up.

Gilhooleys is a rip off for food. Likely get fish and chips for half that price not too far away. $15.00 for a schooner of Carlton says an amazing lot for inflation in Australia. Brisbane is a lot more diverse these days than not so long ago. You produce good value videos. Good to see you in Australia and hope you have been receiving some good Aussie hospitality along your adventures.

It's good that you gave the date on your video Gabriel, thanks so many Y tuber's don't do this, when you go back you must go into the hinterland behind the Gold Coast and visit Mt Tambourine it's such a contrast to the touristy Surfer's Paradise.
