Thank you for two great videos with Julie Frink. They are definitely for the "Avocado Archives." You have a lovely rapport with Julie and it's very cool to see the two of you going on a garden adventure. I have a question - what growing zone is Julie's house? I have always wanted to try growing a cherimoya tree, but I am in zone 10a and get temps above 100 degrees in the summer.

@@AJTheGraftMan I guess if you can grow a Cherimoya in Zone 10b, you can grow it in 10a. Thanks!

Just for your info. I am in West Paso Robles Ca. Zone 8b elevation 2000. I am growing Atemoya & Cherimoya on my property. It's survives the winter without protection. My Atemoya & Cherimoya is producing fruits. Have to hand pollenate. Some varieties doesn't have to. But the best is hand pollenate. I am add more varieties of Atemoya & Cherimoya to my collection. Also my 21/2 years old Choquette also producing fruit this year. Will know more in couple of month to see if the fruit hold or not.

The garden is lovely but looks to be very shaded. How much sun do the avocado trees really need to be fruitful. Do her trees produce a lot of fruit? I"d really like to know because I'm trying to figure out where to tuck trees in my small back yard.

The only thing I've found that stops the rats and squirrels is hardware cloth tubes to cover the fruits you can make from a roll bought at the big box stores.

Havahart traps on top of walls and fences will catch both rats and squirrels quite reliably. Looks like too many house around to safely use an air rifle. Shoot them when they are in the trap. 😉😂
