Absolutely LOVED this update! The Kitchen Sink Tank has been a favorite of mine for quite some time! We are looking forward to seeing more content coming out of the studio from the weekend of reefing! -Blaine

Glad to see these tanks doing well, I would like to see the Australian themed tank with the vertical scape !
@murrmansreef394410 ай бұрын
We did have to reset the Aussie wall tank as we had some major pest and algae issues in that tank!! It has a fresh start now no pests, or algae and we are going to be very diligent when adding corals to it to not add more! We are just starting to add some fleshy LPS back to it!! I did manage to keep the exact scape Jake built in tact as well! -Jack

3:26 that Pocillopora is likely a non-damicornis morph. From what I've seen, classic Pocillopora (meandrina, verrucosa, grandis) don't grow in captivity the same way they do in the wild. Pocillopora is also a highly morphologically variable genus, with morphological characters basically being non-diagnostic for species-level identification.
@murrmansreef394410 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info man!! We’re leaning towards grandis but will keep this in mind Chris Meckley said similar when I asked him! -Jack

Sounds good I’ve been interested in keeping these for the last 30 years but so little info is available on long term care and now that you guys have kept them long term I wanna know the holy grail question answer, do they multiply in captivity?

How are the corals and fish fed?
@heartlandaquariums929210 ай бұрын
That thick, green pocillopora is Pocillopora eydouxi, per Jake in an older video. Don't get rid of that!! They're pretty much nonexistent in the hobby. Can't find much other than P. damicornis or the very occasional P. verrucosa. So that's one of MANY special coral there.
@ReefBuildersVideo10 ай бұрын
Thank you!!! 🙏-Remy
@encrustingacro10 ай бұрын
aff. grandis, not eydouxi.
@heartlandaquariums929210 ай бұрын
@@encrustingacro thanks for the correction. I was just quoting what Jake had said it was in a previous video. Regardless, it's super rare in the hobby! I'd love some myself.
