I was deployed there at Manas Air Base in 2006 and downtown had some cool things to look at. I went to a lake over there that was a 4 hour drive away and it was beautiful except for the straw shacks people were living in. There was a cool bar in Bishkek that a lot of Americans went to and most everybody spoke english. My favorite thing about working there were the interpraters (pretty sure i spelled that wrong). They were gorgeous and very very real. They are so genuine, kind, and full of life. Because of that experience I honestly have plans to one day go to the Ukraine and find a woman to have a relationship with. I know, sounds nuts but im pretty sure they are similar to the Bishkek women I met. See how it goes.

I had lived there 2 years ago as an international student. Well, i would say that those places are quite difficult to adapt but people are really friendly. I didnt even feel anything against them.

The monument that Justin said wasn't on the map was actually a monument erected on the place of an underground old soviet prison. It is rumoured to still exist, at least in part, under ground but it is closed now.

I have been in Astana 2 years ago with my husband. The weather was terrible. I`ve noticed nothing much to see there except buildings.I found Almaty more interesting than Astana. BTW the nature in Kyrgyzstan so amazing, I love it!!!

Hey guys I am Kyrgyz but I am half American, but I'm more American.I look like my mom, who is Kyrgyz I am looking forward to going to America, but ya'now school.So Kyrgyzstan might look like a nice place but the city is not as good a places like Osh, just say'n.I do recommend going but you gotta think there are bad places: the bazaar, the markets, the bad quality apartments ect.So this is my reason.There are cool places like Bishkek Park and Vefa centre WELL IF YOU WANNA GO, GO AHEAD.ENJOY!!!!!!!

You should've tried kumis in Uzbekistan, I've never tried the kyrgyz version of it, but I find the uzbek one pretty refreshing (you just have to pick the right vendor lol). Might be just a matter of taste though since I was born in Uzbekistan. P.S. I like tea better anyway :)

First off in Bishkek the police are ex soviet thugs. They shake you down. Probably the same two that did me when I was there at the bazaar. Also the cabs get pulled over in Manas by police for bribes. The American Pub has American TV. The old brit owns it. The russian bar tenders can get you things. Peles is another good sports bar on the same road passed the white house. Obama's is a good restaurant. Coffe shop by parliament is real good. Kyrgyz's are somewhat friendly. But be on guard. Be safe
