I also remember a monster gamble on a horse called Agapanthus. I got it at 20s in the morning. It went off 4-1 fav and won easily. Thanks Barney. Rest in Peace.

What a legend, RIP. He didn't beat about the bush, that's what set this man apart! He was so right about bookmakers taking too, now all they do is use affordability checks to stop winning. Hopefully, the RP don't delete this comment in his honour.

he mentored this he mentored that mostly Jockeys ;) i'm SURE 1000% there was definitely something in it for him somewhere down the line why didn't he mentor a crack addict? or a homeless person?? why jockeys?? you can be sure Dettori Spencer Queally et al tipped him off when they sat on something good he was of ZERO use to the ordinary punter , ZERO, he was always out for himself right from the get go i can't understand the posts canonization of Curley , clever yes, but only with regard to looking after himself on the betting front

but, i have my own Curley story i tried second guessing him once i remember it was at Southwell in a really poor 1m hcap on an animal called Shaam? or something like that, ridden by his job man in chief Shane Kelly i was watching the market carefully , it drifted from around 6's out to i think an sp of 10/1 what did i do? i piled in on Betfair at the 10's i had no inside info it was more of a hunch despite the market ease .....off, settled out the back i thought f*** that i've done my money in cold blood here , then???? it started to pick up turning in and won i remember easing down by 4 or 5 L that was a great day second guessing the biggest snake that ever lived cleared 5000 off it :P
